Macuahuitl: The macuahuitl was a weapon used by Mesoamerica societies such as the Aztecs, Toltec and Mayans in close range combat. Literally meaning “hand wood”, it’s sides often contained blades made of obsidian, sharper than a razor blade. Used in wars for hundreds of years, such as the Spanish conquest, this weapon became a staple of great civilizations like the Aztecs. It is a completely unique weapon as it’s not technically a club or a sword, but more a combination of both. The Mayan God of War, Buluc Chabtan, is claimed to be stronger than all the other gods of war in any other religion, and can be seen depicted with a Macuahuitl. Perhaps Tyr earned his respect and was gifted this weapon by him. That’s an encounter with Kratos I would love to see happen.
Khopesh: A unique fighting style for Tyr, as he duel wields blades known as Khopesh. A sickle shaped sword developed in Ancient Egypt, derived from battle axes. The most popular weapon during this time, as was often used with a chariot, the combination that helped forge an empire in Ancient Egypt. Various pharaohs and gods have been depicted with Kopesh’ in hand, and they were so valued some have even been found in tombs and graves. Derived from the word “leg” because of its shape, this seems to be a very significant weapon for Tyr as he calls it his “cherished weapon”. The name also must be symbolic, as Tyr has already admitted to Garm taking one of his arms, perhaps he had lost a leg in Egypt as well. This is highly likely as Anubis, the Egyptian god of death, is often depicted with Khopesh and the head of a hound or wolf. It seems Tyr has a bad history with celestial wolves. This would also explain how Tyr is able to get into Valhalla without Mimir’s knowledge of his death, and be part of the technicality that Tyr describes.Tyr must have been killed and revived by Anubis. It seems that these Khopesh were also imbued with power by Ra, the Egyptian Sun god, as Tyr has the ability to black out entire areas of the arena, leaving light only in small parts while wielding them.
Katana(Kusanagi no Tsurugi)- Another stop on Tyr’s journey through other realms and pantheons was in Japan, as for his final weapon, Tyr pulls out a long Katana. The katana, characterized by its long curved blade, traditionally over two feet long, and is equipped with a long handle to wield with two hands. In Japanese culture, they are regarded as more than a blade, they are also a work of art. It’s possible the blade that Tyr wields is the Kusanagi-no- Tsurugi, a legendary blade that is considered one of the three scared treasures of Japan. It was found inside the Yamata no Orochi, an eight headed serpent who terrorized the lands. The sword is a symbol of valour, or bravery, which Tyr displayed plenty of when traveling across pantheons to whole new lands. Or perhaps it was Tyr himself who slayed the eight headed beast. Another pantheon full of potential to be explored in the future.
Shield And Spear: The most famous of Tyr’s weapons and how he was often depicted are with his shield and spear. In the prophecy, we saw Tyr leading an army at Ragarnok using this infamous spear. It is of Norse design and making, rather than the Greek design many believe it to be. Tyr is not only the norse god of war, but also of Law and Justice, and I believe these tools represent this well. His will to attack and find justice for the norse people with his spear, but also a shield to protect and provide law and order with. Spears were the most common weapon used by Viking warriors, so it makes sense their God of War used and was often depicted with one. It’s his most commonly used weapon in your fights with him but he seems almost passive while using them.

They are Greek. Even though Tyr is typically depicted with a Spear and Shield as well, the greeks are more well-known to wield shields and spears as per their hoplite armies and phalanx formation strategies. What Tyr uses is of Greek origin but with Nordic design (it has Tyr's T symbol on it) , this is obvious in: he holds a Hoplite--a greek shield typically made of bronze--this is obvious by the design and how the way he holds it, Greeks hold their shields by strapping it on their forearm, and if you look closely, it has a "turtle shell" shape, a more hollow and curved shield; compare it to a nordic shield which is flat, planks stick together into a circle, domed with iron, and has a iron boss in the centre; Vikings typically hold their shields with a handle in the middle. Differences are small but distinctive, It is confirmed that Tyr used a Greek Hoplon/Aspis shield with a Dory/Doru spear; but added some nordic design on it

You can also see Tyr change every stage: Stage 1 : Greek Spear and Shield - Tyr is in his usual prison wear, tattered shirt, simple yet humble Stage 2 : Mesoamerican Macahuitl - Tyr now sports his own armor, designed for the Nordic God of War Stage 3 : Egyptian Khopesh's - Tyr now shows both his hands glowing, showing that he is showing more of his power to test Kratos Stage 4 : Japanese Katana - Tyr has his hands and forehead tattoos glowing--also a little bit more of his eyes--shows that in this state he shows Kratos that he must fight not just physically but mentally as well Also with each stage Tyr not only uses different weapons from different cultures but also implements their power as well; I saw someone comment in a different video where: In stage 2, when Tyr summons minions to heal him, this is in nod to Mesoamerican culture of human sacrifices to appease their gods Stage 3, As OP mentioned, imbued with Ra's power of sun and fire and light Stage 4, Tyr creates shadow clones of himself--I am not sure which specific mythological figure does this but there is one in the Japanese pantheon that has this power, to make copies on themselves and fight their battles for them

The Shield and Spear represent a unifying of Kratos' original Greek heritage and his new life in the world of the Nordic gods. While the spear and shield are a hallmark of Spartan battle tactics, they were also very commonly used by the Vikings in ancient Scandinavia. They don't necessarily represent any one pantheon, but rather a joining of the ones Kratos has experienced.
