Typhon Bulletproof Chassis Upgrade

Ойын-сауық

In this video, using the Arrma typhon 6s, we install the new 1/4 inch chassis purchased from Bulletproof RC. This chassis is made using 7075 T6 aluminum and said to be as tough as they get. During the switch over of the chassis we show how easy it can be to do this to any 6s platform car from Arrma. This technique works for the Kraton, the Mojave, even the Talion. Afterward, and this can be jumped to by scrolling forward within the video feed, we put the new chassis and upgrades to the test. Joined by Zac, a good friend of mine, we head out to punish the cars to find out how durable this new configuration is. Come join the fun as we jump and crash our cars in this test of strength. Zac has a completely stock Typhon, while mine is only slightly modified, as you'll see in this video. AJ

    yes i know the RPM stuff is great but today at about 40 degrees here in NJ plastic get brittle and can easily brake so one of my RPM wing mount on my Kraton EXB snap in half. Im so happy they got that life time warranty all you do is just ship back the parts that brake and the mail you back new parts. already did it once. Great video I love the typhon fastest buggy in the world.

    Cool video thanks for sharing. A good cradle might be those expanding foam shipping packages. It would form fit exactly to the contours of the components. Also, FYI arrma released a heat sink that fits this motor. I also added the matching cooling fan which fits with very minimal cuts to the body.

  • @AJJAMStudios

    For track and grounded running I would first go with the Mojave EXB 6s. That thing is a missile straight out of the box, and since it is an EXB you get to choose you electronics, so for me that's a plus. As far as the 4s goes, most of our equipment is 6s or 3s, and of course 8s, but I prefer the Losi Lasernut for speed and handling, especially on the track. Of course it needs a few upgrades like Aluminum carrier blocks and better wheels and tires, and I switched the rear spare tire for a wing, which makes it handle way better. It is far from perfect, but it seems to fit your criteria. If it's a MT you're looking for, the Traxxas Maxx with the wide kit on it is an absolute beast. Of course that's only my opinion. I wish I could be more help. AJ

    Be sure you check the physical size of the batteries you choose before you buy them, not all fit in the cavity. The body is sort of restricting and if you plan to stack two batteries instead of using one, I've found 5000mah 3s hard-shell batteries do not fit inside very well, especially with the body in place. Other than that, I think it is a good choice. 😎👍

    @@AJJAMStudios thanks for the helpful feedback. I've noticed different brands of batteries go for diff shapes. My vorza barely fits alot of new batteries around the 5a capacity as alot of batteries now see to be shorter and wider. The wider part being the problem. I will definitely check sizes though to make sure they fit

  • @AJJAMStudios

    It's always good to check and see if the batteries you are looking at actually fit the car. You can never tell if a salesperson "actually knows" if a battery will fit or not. They may not even indulge in the hobby. I've seen people bring the Typhon 6s and a battery set back into the store because they do not actually fit into the rig they sold them for. It can be super frustrating and no one takes the blame for the mishap. Prevention is key. Always check and see for yourself if the batteries fit. Thanks for the discussion. 😎👍

  • @AJJAMStudios

    @AJJAMStudios

    2 жыл бұрын

    No, the bottom is countersunk to allow the stock screws to function normally. I like both chassis, the TLR and the Bulletproof. For high impact jumping the Bulletproof seems to be well suited, while the TLR is lighter and seems to handle the track and medium to light bashing better. The question is, what are you going to do with it? Headlong bashing with no regard for the consequences, or controlled driving with smaller jumps and more cornering? Weight is a thing when it comes to handling. I hope this helps. 😎👍

I hope building and repairing RCs stays with us as new people join the hobby. Building is half of the hobby for us here at the channel and "not wrenching" just feels wrong somehow. It can be so relaxing when done with no pressure. I can't imagine taking an RC into the hobby store to have it fixed. Thanks for commenting. 😎👍
