Don't forget that this ship was not designed with "sport killing" of thargoids in mind, I.e. 1heart at a time. It was designed to bring overwhelming firepower and presence to the AX battlefield and to be able to consistently commit quick clean kills. It would be good to see a video like this where this method is tested against all types and multiple quantities..rather than the typical AXI dogma of if it is not done slowly and skillfully it doesn't count.. Just an opinion, no need for any AX top guns, yes I agree you are all hyper skillful, to get heated.. It performed well here because of Kate's skill.. Try it as it was designed for. Please

Too many think to fly a T-10 the same way they would a Krait or Chieftain. Then get all sad when it won't do so. As Miss Kate shows, a good Pilot can do impressive things with a T-10 flying solo. And yes, it most certainly does excel at 'Bringing the Pain' lol. But where the T-10 truly shines is as the anchor of a Wing or Team. 4x #3 shards will knock the shields off of just about anything. And the T-10 handle face tanking multiple lightning strikes if need be. Let the smaller ships take out the swarm while that great hulking beast is removing the shields and exerting the hearts. Then the smaller ships jump in to snipe the hearts while the T-10 backs off, maybe performs a bit of repair work. And gets ready for the next round of getting all up into thargoid face.

So fitting to get a mention in your Type 10 review. Love this big brute! Love your content & happy to support, keep up the great work! Glory to mankind.

I 100% believe the devs that wrote the description for the type 10 has never fought a targoid and has never seen elite dangerous players fight a thargoid. They just though “oh caustic damage, let’s make a hull tank with a lot of hard points” and then they stopped thinking about it. It’s not a bad ship by any means, but the description and lore of the ship is so stupid it’s immersion breaking. Amazing piloting and videos btw.

The T-10 is a tank. It's not a Ballerina, fat or otherwise. A pair of size 3 shards set wide apart to exert the heart(s), with the 2, size 2 hardpoints relatively close together for gauss to get decent convergence with which to snipe. Or even set all 4 across the top as gauss Leaving 3 hardpoints all in a nice row for a hell of a spread for flak launchers. Finishing with a pair of size 1 beams, LR + TV either gimbal or fixed. Shield-less it's not difficult to have a standing thermal of 19% or even below.

You two are hands down some of the best pilots I've ever seen in any game. The T10 seems like it was designed to be used in a wing with lighter ships like the AC supporting it while it acts as a tank and swarm killer, at least that's my arm chair idea as someone who still does not have a full ax ship finished

The best pilot, even with the worst ship can demolish the goids. I would never been able to put a fight like you did with the Hydra using the T-10. If you try a few more times you will obliterate the Hydra. For me, only with an monstrous Cutter or with a high performance cold orbit ship (I like the chief and the Krait)...Amazing video!

i just picked up a type 10 today fist time ever owning one and will be my 1st ship i engineer on pc since i converted over and the grind all over agian i am insane cant wait to see what this bad boy can do

If you group 3 Guass Cannons on one side and 3 Flak on the other with 3 vented beams in the middle it would probably be quite effective. The vented Beam effect stacks which would probably help with cooling

i don't know if how well it would apply to thargoid hunting, but i've heard that a good way to deal with the type 10's poor weapon convergence is to place the weapons asymmetrically on the ship, an example being if your build has multiple PAs and Rails, keep the rails on one side of the ship (left or right) and put all the PAs on the opposite side

I know this might sound odd but it works really well in a wing. Generally I just put as many turreted ax multi-cannons and regular turreted multi-cannons that I can fit on my type 10. The regular multi-cannons aren't as effective but damage is damage. It worked really well as a thargoid scout screener. Generally our tatics were that the type 10 had to take out all of the scouts while the other ships focused on interceptors. Although I haven't had time to look at the new enhanced ax multi cannons but from what I have heard those multi-cannons are far better from the regular ax multi-cannons. So the type 10 may become more useful in the future.

A weapon stabilizer is great on this thing. It melts the cyclops with ease just with 6 modified shards, and not having to exert hearts either.

The Type 10 is the perfect wing ax support vessel. Sure, It's terrible when used solo due to the ax weapon limit, it's hardpoint convergence isn't great for fixed weapons, and it is slow as molasses, but it is endlessly useful when built purely as a support ship for wing ax combat. Virtually endless hull strength, a massive power distributor, and the ability to equip a Class 8 shield cell bank as well as a fighter bay. Put turreted healing beams, remote release flak launchers, and your choice of turreted guardian weapons, and this ship can: -Assist with dealing damage to exert hearts -Consistently regenerate the shields of your allies, making them borderline unkillable -Obliterate the swarm with lots of flak launchers -Tank damage that would kill any other ax ship TL:DR, the Type 10 defender excels at defending allies, not attacking thargoids. Keep this mindset when building your T10 for wing combat and you will have a much more enjoyable time in this ship. Your wing mates will also love you for saving them lol!

In my experience I find that that type 10 AX is more suited to winged fights, with it using large shards and plasma for sheer blunt force damage for the heart exertion, and purposely getting force lightninged for unloading the shards into the face, and at Least 1 chieften/krait with the gauss build for heart sniping while the T10 soaks the damage.

Which is pretty much how I fly my T-10 lmao. Or my Cutter, or my Anaconda, or my Corvette for that matter. Nothing I know of knocks the shields off of an interceptor faster than the nose (or face) of a large hull tank to the face.

I have one for use in Human CZs as well , the ship is a heavy hitter for sure. Seeing it in action here though just futher solidifies that for me.

I'm surprised that it's as good as it is. Perhaps it was misjudged..

Great job! I'm still wondering what the devs intended with this ship too... I wonder if the layout of the type 10 would be better in multi-crew situations against harder thargoid variants.. The extra pips to weapons and a helping hand or two to synthesize ammo and heatsinks while also doing repairs or sending out a xeno fighter would be nice during gunfights so you can focus a little more, with bigger goids, otherwise the turreted AXI multicannons could be set up in a way to effectively hunt down thargoid scouts if you're just killing them for combat rank. Its fairly easy but not as fun as hunting with friends.

given it's namesake, I feel like the Type 10 is more meant to be strapped with as many AX multi cannon turrets as humanly possible and just let them tear through everything, that is also given it's hardpoint placement and sizes. It does look like a very capable Interceptor killer though.

Unfortunately, AX stuff is limited to 4 per ship. So having this many hardpoints doesn't help.

I've never done ax yet. Looking to get into it. That being said, would multiple long range thermal vent beams be enough to keep heat down?

I actually used to rly like the Type 10 for combat, ESPECIALLY In MultiCrew. Having a gunner to run Multi and missiles, this things an untouchable tank. Any other time now tho, My Cutter is 10x better in every aspect. To the point I barely fly my Type 10 now.

What if you exert the heart with an elite npc SLF like the trident with plasma after taking out the swarm. would the slf provide the extra dps needed? you have 8 slfs and 8 hearts to down so the math seems coincidental. also could the type 100 allow a slf in the build?

So I guess youd call it "A jack of all trades, but a master of none"

I would run military lightweight/deep plate armor instead with 4's for Hull reinforcements. s.orbis.zone/b68Y , 700 more armor. 5's aren't worth it being double the weight of 4's and aren't efficient. Dropped the fuel from 16T to 8T. This is how you can add more armor and stay around the same weight. Its a trick I use for my combat explorer. He was using 2 medium gauss,2 small gauss (at 7 min 54 sec in his vid). That's how he got the 2 extra flak and better aiming points. Swarm dying instantly is nutz as well w/4 flak. Using his setup would work well on the swarm. He had a shield but he kept constantly getting lightninged(and making mistakes) so it was almost useless for him. He even had to reboot. Your silent running/TV tactic is better by far(lighter too). His tri fire worked well as he could hit with all of em. You got this :P

Someone actually used the Type-10 with all of the hard points as AX multi cannons and advanced multi cannons, the way it was designed for... It was surprisingly effective

It's a shame that T-10 isn't more capable on it's own against the thargoids, but the truth I think is, that the T-10 is the best support ship you could have in a wing. I think it was never designed to be the frontline warrior, but instead the tank and support ship. A role that it absolutely owns. I used to fly T-10 in a wing with two Kraits and I loved it. My wing unfortunately left the game forever. Your flying was amazing to watch and I didn't think T-10 can kill thargoids that effectively on it's own. I salute you.

I agree the type 10 is definitely not the best ax ship, and SLF has some issues, but the type 10 can fit a 6d fighter hangar which fixes the uptime problems SLF typically have against thargoids since you can just deploy the second one for your next attack run. Have you considered trying that?

I so wanna love this ship, maybe its time to give it another go.... 🤔

Derps all frag guns 2x shots engineering kills all thargoids in 1 to 2 vollies all are a 4 second fight. It is for sport killing. Seen it kill a huge group.

if i remember correctly they nerfed the Python way back at the start of ED :D cant recall any buffs though, I would definately be in support of buffing the T10 though. could be a great ship with just one or two minor changes

Could you do a guide for anti xeno weapons please? Literally none exist online. I get it guardian weapons are the greatest thing since fried rice. But some of us with jobs dont have the time to go get them. So are anti xeno weapons a good choice? And if not then why are they in the game?

you should do it ;) experimentation with different builds and flying styles is a great adventure - I fly the way i fly - and unfortunately it is too engrained to change - but whoi knows, with a different build you may have success flying differently ;)

@@Citizen_Kate oh kate, i wish i was half as good as you are in AX fight, although all of my kills are solo i am not that proud or stupid to say that you are not doing good. i am just saying that they made this ship as an AX large ship and they most probably had something on their minds when building it, although we are familiar with FDEV way of thinking and we know the prons and cons of the rest of the AX weapons i refuse to believe this was only ment to be a 4xAX multi cannon (scout killing) + Support Ship, although it would be rather usufull like that in a AX CZ. Thanks for answering my comment though :)

It is impressive that you brought it beyond what it's meant to be, but it shines much more as a support vehicle for your team. A Defender.
