A while back I saw one of your videos and commented that I wish I could fly like you, you encouraged be to try FAoff and thanks to your encouragement I became an FAoff pilot and attempted my first cyclopse last week! It was far from a pretty fight, hit the enrage timer at one point, but I wanted to say thanks

You made the 'vet look like a ballet dancer with a bazooka! I took a hiatus just after the Thargoids started popping up but I'm glad I'm back...and with expert advise no less!

That was fantastic. I love watching a skilled person at work.

This is my favourite ship in E:D but I did not expect it to handle Thargoids at all. This was impressive. You fly like an absolute pro. Love the build too.

Thanks CMDR, Kate. This was the information I need to see to improve my setup. I've got a little build I've used to take on Cyclops in my 'Vette. Though I'm a shield guy I really don't trust myself yet to go shieldless, bought a Chieftain for that test.

Love your AX videos! They are so informative. I still really struggle with FAOFF, it'd be amazing if you were able to add a thruster input overlay so we can see your thrust control as your orbit.

Great vid and fantastic explanations! Your corvette is stunning! Now, this is very personal but I know many vette commanders feel the same, there's just one very sad part that keeps me from engaging in AX activities with my Corvette: the limitation in terms of the Huge hardpoints. With such a magnificent ship, it's just plain ridiculous to be limited to large gauss cannons on the huge hardpoints. 1:05 says it all - one can barely see the weapons. Sad.

To say that "that was a great sequence of kills" is a understatement. Though you are clearly a seasoned veteran it was impressive how you adapted your tactics to make good use of the qualities of the ship.

And now Kate and Will will take down a Hydra with a bog standard sidewinder and a sharpened spoon.

Someday, maybe, I'll be half as good as a Pilot as Miss Kate. My current skill level and primary ability in AX is as a battering ram. Wedge my ship (anaconda, cutter, corvette, or T-10) between 2 of the petals on an interceptor then just keep shooting till one or both petals fall off. Equipped with 4 size 3 shard cannons and I make a very nice flying shotgun lol.

I love it! My first AX ship was/is a Corvette. While I now know that it's not the ideal choice, I fooling that its ability to absorb punishment makers it a very forgiving ship. Also, it's just sessions to behold! Speaking of which, that planet made a beautiful backdrop to your battles! And the music is suitable epic. o7!

Liked video due to the infomative , and down to earth run down of the strategy which clearly worked. I have yet to unlock gaus cannons . Thargoids still seem to complicated for me . Ive seen a couple of videos with thargoid combat . I will get there one day I hope .

If you want to get rid of the HUD elements when on the interior camera (such as at the bottom of the screen at 0:37), you can toggle the HUD on and off again when you've selected a new camera angle!

Guy in my squad recommended this after I got destroyed fighting a cyclops solo, Thanks you two! :) o7

If anyone needs to know. The enraged swarm does about 7% integrity damage per thargon to a vette with 7500 integrity or there abouts. It sucks and I died pretty damn quick.

I'm going to experiment with a 6x Modified Shard Cannon build this week. It will most likely compliment the sledgehammer approach against Thargoids. I may run shielded, though; since my focus will be less on staying cool, and more on short-duration brute-force attacks. Would an Anaconda work better? Probably. Will it be awesome? I certainly hope so.

Do you have a Cutter version? I'm looking all over but they don't provide much detail aside from their build coriolis.

Seeing the Corvette AFTER seeing the Cutter seems like night and day. The Cutter truly bullies Thargoids while the Corvette struggles.

I hope to one day fly my 'vette with even a fraction of your skill! Gonna stick to my Chieftan for AX for now but once I build some skill with that can't wait to try the 'vette. This looks so fun. (EDIT: Also, FDEV, Huge AX weapons when!? 🤣)

Dropship needs a review to, its not that bad as many say imo. Its even capable of outrunning the goids

What about the Cutter i used it only against the Cyclops but i don't know how to build properly for it

I outfitted it with so many hull reinforcents, 8A Prismatic and 8A SCB but my shields never go down lol so I might have to replace some of that hull.

Why not kill off most of the enraged swarm to lower the incoming dps and help with the repair limpet problem on the Hydra?

Question: Where you running silent the entire time for all battles?

my main problem with replicating this is that no matter how slight of a turn i do on my TM16000 FCS i cannot track as i turn to yaw quicker than my orbit thus i have to compensate and it gives me a wigle, like i said it doesnt matter how tiny of a twist or how gentle i try. it just like if the sensitivity is too high, CAN I PLEASE ASK: #1 what Hotas setup do you use to do this and , is there a way that you know of to lower the sensitivity so i can reproduce this level of accurate tracking.

This is less like a dogfight and more like two ancient Earth battleships slugging it out with broadsides.

Is it necessary to use long ranged thermal vent beam as a fixed weapon or can we use it as gimballed? Is it able to lock target from 4 km?

The jitter from a gimbal at 4km would be cancer

They really need to buff these capital ships. Their not great in PVP they are ok in anti xeno.

Ive only faced a Thargoid interceptor once, multicrewed it and flew a fighter. Lets just say we had to run

If only we can have class 4 Guardian railguns, the Interceptor can be pierced trough. As well inevitable 190% well done cooking of your systems, 10 seconds precharge with full WEP bus and non-synthesis'able ammo.

One thing I'd like to see being done to AX combat is giving the first AX weapons more utility. What if they had a special effect of reducing a thargoid's armour rating or giving it a DoT when struck since they use enzymes that were proven to be effective against them. I don't know I just want more variety when it comes to weapon loadouts, the meta is too stale, anything everyone ever uses are gauss canons because they are massively superior by design, be intentional or just bad balancing from frontier.

Just don't min-max. I use 2 large plasma chargers to exert and 2 small gauss to break because i like the plasma chargers more. They're fun as heck and help keep the heat down

Not that I think it is good, but wasn’t the T10 supposed to be the ultimate Thargoid killing machine? Honestly, wouldn’t the Anaconda be better than the Corvette because of hardpoints and thermal efficiency?

carrier or ship transfer - this is an AX ship not a traveller - use a taxi ship for getting around (AspX, DBX etc)

They have carriers parked there. Go to their playlists and watch the Thargoid War series they have. It's great. You will see Kate's entire progression into the AX scene.

Im gonna try this vette build then maybe the chief, currently using krait mk2, cutter and challenger for ax stuff

I'm not an ax fighter, why dont we ever see slf employed in these vids? And why no multicrew controlling the flak guns against the swarm so the pilot can focus on the goid?

because neither of those tactics work - multicrew flak does not give you the ranging indicator - so they have no way of knowing when the flak round is at the correct range - and SLFs are effectively useless in AX as they are made of paper
