Tyler1 Has Done It Again

Ойындар

Well -- he’s done it again. Tyler1 reached the top 0.5% of rapid chess players on chess.com this week with a rating of over 1900 ELO.
When you translate that into an official FIDE rating - Tyler might be slowly approaching the level of a Chess Master - less than a year after he first started playing.
Even doubters like Hikaru are acknowledging that Tyler may be part of a transformation of this 1500 year old game that nobody could have predicted…

@@adg9042 Sorry for the wall of text - Is not only that. Chess in most places is now harder to get into in the one hand, because video games have become widely and easily available, and is the easy to go thing for kids, but also what was explained in the video. The tools to improve in chess for those who wish to do so are the best and also easily available for everyone. Most of the time. For example, in League, most people are unable to reach Tyler's level because of ego/arrogance, and blaming others on your mistakes, even if you can't control all matches. That or just because it's easier/faster to one trick or abuse what is OP rather than playing and learning through the fundamentals of the game that can make you good with multiple champions/roles. Abusing strong picks IS still a good thing to do. On chess, you can't blame others for your mistakes, and most of it revolves around the fundamentals, so the potential to improve for someone who wants to do so is much higher. Of course, you have special cases of people who will reach higher highs than others.

@@antoinecomtois8126 in that very specific game you were better than him. And thats all that matters to Tyler 1. Winning. He knows he cant learn every single opening and be universally good at them at his age. Thats why he just plays one opening every single time to significantly narrow down the options of moves. Hes a grinder and he will beat his head against the wall until it breaks. If he loses 999 out of 1000 games against somebody that is actually significantly better than him, its that 1 single game that he won that drives him. And thats what people like Hikaru dont understand.

It's also a lot harder to reach 2000 in blitz/bullet vs rapid due to a stronger pool of players aka rapid is about 2-300 points higher than blitz/bullet on avg. However, given his insane puzzle rating where he solves the puzzles pretty quickly, he should be able to break 2000 in blitz/bullet as well.
