I'm confused about Whoopie's following comment..."from the mouth of blondes." I think maybe she was equating it "from the mouth of babies." But it came out weird for me as if blondes have their bright moments? But it was beautifully said. And I love Whoolie and that she was honored that way. She is a EGOT recipient but they way Hollywood works you'd have to really pay attention and maybe even do your own research. I love how Tyler Perry is giving them a voice, real characters, real stories and not just the Hollywood stereotypes that we have grown up seeing. I love Madeo and have quoted her many a times when my children were smaller. I wish him and his studio and anyone involved many more blessings!! And may they have long careers.

Tyler Perry is an African American well rounded entertainer and his projects/works/life story is geared to an African American audience. For Sara Haines who is not necessarily his target audience to be so moved by his projects both personal and for entertainment purposes spoke to the level of quality and love that he brings to the screen.

Tyler Perry is a wonderful. God sent person. His Mother sound so Lovely the type person I would have had the pleasure of meeting her. I have watched all are Tyler's Movies. One day hopefully I will have the opportunity to meeting Tyler Perry.

My friend got an aggressive form of colon cancer at 30. Tyler Perry sent him money. Out of the blue. I guess he saw his story on Instagram or Facebook. Tyler perry is known for having a huge heart. My friend lost his battle to cancer, but I know it meant so much to him that Tyler Perry reached out to him.

Tyler Perry brought tears to my eyes. I totally get how he was feeling. I'm guessing, without seeing the documentary, that what Sara Haines said made him realize he succeeded at what he wasn't even trying to do. Telling his story also tells the story of his mother. But not everyone has that type of love in them like Tyler Perry. It's a rare trait to have. That's why he's such beautiful person.

OBVIOUSLY by his reaction of being caught off guard. 2 things could be true at once, Sara exposed a beautiful sentiment and Tyler Perry is the man! You two could relax.

Sara’s moment of honesty and thoughtfulness led Tyler’s reaction that was so pure, genuine and moving, it brought me to tears! ❤

I get this. I met a woman recently and we were chatting and she reminded me sooo much of my BELOVED, sweet hearted and KIND, LOVING departed mama...and I began to tell this woman about my mom and tried to encapsulate in those few minutes just who she was and what she meant to all who knew her and I said, "I wish you could've met her." And this woman replied, "what do you mean? I just did! Through YOU. I see her in YOU." - I had the same feels as Mr. Perry. I get you, Tyler. I'm sure his mom was an inspiration to all. Look at her son. Cant wait to see this film. God bless you all.

Sara wears her heart on her sleeve and with most guests, she seems genuinely interested in their lives. Many of the heartfelt things she asks and mentions during interviews are usually overshadowed but Tyler was meant to hear that message this morning and I'm glad they allowed him to feel it instead of trying to rush things along.

Definitely can empathize with Mr. Perry, being the youngest of 5 and losing my mother at 8 I still witness her endure some horrific things from the people that shared the same blood. Tyler honestly broke me when he was so touched by Sara met his Mother. So moving.

They way he talks about his Dad and how he and his son are breaking the cycle. He is living proof that you are more than the actions of your upbringing.

I saw his first play at the Regal theater in Chicago. I laughed so hard I almost peed on myself. Everybody has a Madea in their family

When he said he doesn't expect or hold out hope on his father changing because he is who he is at this point - I felt that deeply. I feel the same way about my father. This man has committed unspeakable acts that has caused lifelong pain and trauma to our family and there's no accountability on his part. Till this day he blames others and still behaves in a toxic and demonic way. So yes, he is who he is and I have no delusions about him and I treat him accordingly. He has no access to me and it will stay that way. I broke his toxic cycle of dysfunction for my peace of mind and sanity. Sometimes you have to do that with family members.

Man!! Ms Sonya, I hate to hear that about your father. My daddy wasn't perfect, but he was a good, loving, jolly, funny as all get out type of man! I was lucky to have him as a daddy. We (his family) lost him far too soon (July 2003 at the age of 69 to pancreatic cancer). I miss him all the time, but I have some tremendous memories of him. I wish you all the best, dear lady. I certainly hope you have other fantastic family members to ensure you have a lovely and fun life!

Not everyone gets that or has that or even experience that, so please consider yourself blessed. It's not even a matter of wanting or expecting a perfect father. I so love this. It's great seeing Tyler Perry receive such kind words and appreciation. I've been a fan since the very first play and have watched all of his plays, movies, and shows. It is a blessing to see his journey and to watch as God continues to bless him.

That statement wasn’t a surprise to me because the Bible does say that you train up a child in the way that he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it. It’s up to the parents to show what way to train. So Tyler life just shows through the training of his mother and vice versus. Y’all act like Sara was some kind of savior for saying that. 😆

I watched his documentary last week, and I had to pause it 29 minutes in. Tyler is a TRUE VIRGO.....Most of us are so full of EMPATHY and FORGIVENESS and at times it is so EXHAUSTING but it is just part of our nature.

I remember when he came out that night, I was there. It was like a football team won the super bowl. EVERYONE went crazy. One day I would love to talk to Tyler Perry regarding that night.

WOW, Sara’s words brought tears to my eyes. So, I can only imagine how they made Tyler feel. Like Joy said “If you had a good mother, you’ve won the lottery”. I had one of those mothers. 🕊️REST IN PEACE,MOM🕊️

I'm praying for Tyler Perry for bringing us this documentary. You never get over someone close to you, but it's possible to get through it. I lost my mother, and she was younger than Tyler Perry's mother, so I empathize with him.😢❤

@@Tellerperry Thanks for the reply! Truly unexpected. I lost my mom too, 20yrs ago. She was my everything. (If it wasn't for my faith, the belief that I will see my mother again, I don't know what would have become of me!) So I definitely felt Sara's words on such a deep emotional level. Keep up the good work, even though I know it's hard to reach certain milestones, and not be able to share them with her. ❤️
