Apparently his mother was also disgusted by his fathers abuse but “there was no stopping the inevitable” which I don’t really know what that means but I’m assuming because of the times and because she was abused herself, she never split :(

I worked for years in Hollywood. I have been to and worked at nearly every studio from Studio City to Burbank to Manhattan Beach, and by far THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST and most self sustained, completely well thought out, and AMAZING of them ALL!!!!! I HOPE that I get to visit Tyler Perry studios one day. I'd love to see this all in person. So proud of what he has done.

I'm so proud of Tyler Perry. I'm sure he doesn't remember me, but I worked with him at my first job when I moved to Atlanta in 1993. "Fred Hanna and Associates", a collection agency on Franklin Road in Marietta. He told me then that "he was using all of his money towards acting and writing classes" and at that time, he was sleeping on a friend's couch. So very proud of what you accomplished.

This has to be the most creative use of land/buildings I have ever seen. He can film virtually any scene he wants there.

I have so much respect for Mr Perry. Unbelievable achievement.

I was in Atlanta when it was announced he had purchased the old Army base. I am thrilled to know he has chosen to retain the historical houses. He employs and trains disadvantaged young people at the studio. What a great human being he is.

It was never a Confederate Army base. It was founded 2 years after the Civil War ended.
