Man this song brings me to tears. I’ve felt so empty, no purpose in life. I hate to say that because I have my family now and my son is my life but damn do I miss the feeling of being someone and having my boys as support whenever I needed them. I feel so alone even tho my life is filled with blessings. It’s been 4 years now since I left but I remember everything like it was yesterday. I miss y’all boys at 1/1. Stay up and have a beer for me.

Damn brother I cried for about 10 minutes after hearing this. I got out in 2011 and never thought twice. Hearing this made me realize that I did think twice time and time again I just couldn't admit I made a mistake. I have never found purpose like I felt when I was in. I may be "successful" and have a great family but I'm so fucking empty in the grand scheme of things. Thanks for making me feel something again.

This is from an OLD Marine...the 80's...I didn't see combat like a lot of you guys on these comments...for that sometimes I feel like I missed out on the complete experience...but I will tell you that the sentiments of this song ring true for almost every Marine I know - Old Corps and New Corps. We all miss the clowns and sometimes we even miss the circus too...thank you for this song...even us old guys and Officer types appreciate it.

So true, did my time in the 90’s, did a few months in Somalia, but man, when I got out, I had a difficult time, u go from being with your boys every day and night to home and that’s it, it’s over… it was a tough time but thankfully I still keep up with them, I’m on the east coast on Long Island and my 2 best buddies are in Philly and Boston… we still talk often…. Life is good now though

Dude this is fucking awesome. You know, as a former Lance Coolie in Turd Platoon - your EAS song really was our anthem back in 2009. It kept us going. It nailed the emotions we had, and put them into words. This song does the same thing now..... but it looks like it was filmed with the same phone that filmed the EAS song 😂. Thanks for this, brother.

I got out after going to Iraq and Afghanistan I was medically retired in 07. I will say I am a different level of successful not to brag but I say the big green weenie shaped me for better and worse. I was fortunate enough to go to an Ivy, worked for two years at bulge bracket investment bank went to a top 5 mba and have been highly successful making more than I ever could have imagined but I still miss the clowns. I now have responsibility, employees who financially depend on me, a wife, 3 kids. I can no longer be with the clowns but the clowns are always with me. My time in the corps especially in Hite shaped me for the better. I still reminisce occasionally especially with Afghanistan falling but this song hits the nail on the head. The clowns made the circus but I hated the circus.

After being part of something so big that affects so may things, CIvies just will never get that feeling, the rush you feel when you take an object as a team, and (for anyone that has had this happen, I'm sorry and understand. My # is 44) the feeling of total loss, extreme anger, and a heart full of vengeance as your brother dies in your arms or while you are trying to save him.
