at first I didn't understand that part either.. my gf doesnt understand hmong as much as i do so i explain this song a lot to her over and over because we relate to it and as I listen to this song over and over I think what he's actually trying to say is that he can't show weakness to her.. I know that what he said straight out means he doesn't care but when you think of it in a deeper way I think he tries to say.. as I said before that he can't show weakness to her that's why I believe he runs away because he wouldn’t want her to see him cry because as hmong men we have to be the strong ones in a relationship/a family and he cant express his emotions because as i said it might show weakness or even vulnerability but when it comes down to it when he goes to talk to the OGs as you said and the song said he wants to be with her and it's not that he doesn't care that she cries it just hurts him so much to the point where he might cry so he runs away and acts like he doesnt care and as I just listened again he doesn't want her to see him cry because it'll show weakness and it breaks his heart seeing her cry and he'll die if he sees her cry too
