Playing Gruul against the first opponent is poetic

You seem very very hestitant to go into 3 colors. I think I've wound up with a better temur eldrazi deck than I've ever had a gruul or simic eldrazi deck. I find that when you have triple lands at common, and you're already a green deck that natively supports mana ramp / fixing, and that wants colorless mana anyway that it just makes sense. If I was in your shoes, p1p10 would have been the voidcraw for me because I see that BOTH lanes are open and it's a triplet that has enough support. The big benefit for me is that I almost always wind up with an incredibly deep pool of top end cards, and I normally 5-3 or 6-3 pretty easily. I think people are really really sleeping on temur eldrazi. I've found a lot of success there. Sure, you might have to pick up 6 lands, but that's rarely ever an issue if both lanes are open.

Going 3 colours is almost always worse than going 2 colours, you basically only want more than 2 colours if you don't have enough strong cards in 2 colours, or have multiple bombs in the 3rd colour that are easy to splash, which wasn't the case there. Lands are usually picked quite highly, so getting enough for a 3 colored deck isn't at all guaranteed.

​@@Derael Yeah I think that's the general rule yeah, but every rule has an exception, and I've found temur eldrazi in this format to be the exception, just because I never struggle for lands or fixing, and because I have access to 3 full colors, I almost always end up with several insane bombs in packs 2/3. I mean, obviously going three color is pretty dumb in the other wedges and shards, but I think there's a lot of synergy between what gruul eldrazi and what simic eldrazi want to do, and that mana just isn't an issue.

Yea, I think he could've sacced the spawn and then used collective to give the phoenix hexproof AND destroy the angel since it's an artifact. Maybe I'm missing something tho

Saccing the spawn itself would have left the phoenix on board due to Bestow, as still a legal target as it's still an echantment. He could definitely have waited to destroy the Phoenix at instant speed, or as Paulost pointed out sacced and then given it hexproof and destroyed the angel, which seems the best line. He may have forgotten for a moment it was an Instant.

People are definitely sleeping on Infernal Captor. It would have been my pack 2 pick 4 choice for sure.

I hate to say it… Ulamog has been a real disappointment in draft for me. I’ll still pick it and play it, but I have a negative win rate with it in games I CAST IT. Emrakul at least actually wins and Kozilek is both cheaper and draws cards and makes bodies. Too many times does an opponent just use dog umbra or breathe your last and just sac two lands and go about their day.

The only time I got it in a draft, I won every game I had it. It did help having Arena of glory and hasting a 15/15 annihilator 8....
