The plains of Pakistan has mostly sunny weather but sometimes rains also come. The northern Pakistan is famous for snowfall and rains but no rail route in that region.

Yes we have 2nd highest mountain K2. And many peaks which are 8000+ meters are in Pakistan including Nanga Parbat, G-I, Broad Peak, G-II.

@Alpha Dragon.. you are right but right now our railways can't afford this much investment in electrification. Right now priority is to upgrade the ML1 so that freight operations could be improved as Railways most revenue is generated by freight.

THE ALCOS THAT WERE LAST PURCHASED BY THE AT&SF RR WERE 1958 RSD-15 FREIGHT MOTORS! 2500 HP 6 AXLE 6 MOTOR , 16-251 C POWER! THEY WERE PURCHASED AS LOW FRONT HOOD LEADING. DUE TO THIS LOW HOOD ON A MASSIVE LOCOMOTIVE THEY WERE NICKNAMED "ALLIGATORS"! THE SHOP WHERE I WORKED HAD NONE OF THESE ASSIGNED UNTIL 1970, THEN THEY HAD 6 ASSIGNED TO OUR YARDS AS HEAVY SWITCHERS AND TRANSFER UNITS! IN OUR SHOP THERE WERE VERY FEW MACHINISTS THAT KNEW ALCOS, SO I TOOK THAT WORK AND BECAME THE RESIDENT ALCO MACHINIST! THERE WAS AN OLD ELECTRICIAN THAT KNEW THEM QUITE WELL AND WE WERE OFTEN PAIRED UP TO DO TROUBLE SHOOTING WORK IN YARD AND ON ROAD! I ONLY GOT TO RIDE ONE ON ROAD ONE TIME BUT THE PROBLEM LOCOMOTIVE THAT DAY WAS A EMD! THE ALLIGATORS WERE NUMBERED 800 TO 849, LATER RENUMBERED 9800- 9849! MY BEST MEMORY OF THESE WAS ONE NICE SPRING NIGHT IN 1972 WE HAD 4 OF THESE ON A WESTBOUND HEAVY FAST FREIGHT TRAIN ON THE DEPARTURE TRACK AT TURNER DEPOT. I HAD TO GO FROM THE SHOP TO THE YARD TO FIX A MINOR PROBLEM WITH THE BELL RINGER! AFTER I WAS DONE I DECIDED TO WATCH THE DEPARTURE! I DONT KNOW THE TONNAGE BUT THE TRAIN WAS A MILE LONG! THIS PART OF THE YARD IS ON A SLIGHT UPHILL GRADE! THE TRAIN HAD TO DEPART SLOWLY SO THE CONDUCTOR COULD CATCH THE CABOOSE ON THE REAR WHEN COMING BY THE DEPOT! WHEN THE ENGINEER BROUGHT THE THROTTLE FROM IDLE TO POWER NOTCH 1, THE IDLE SPEED BARELY CHANGED! DUE TO THE KNUCKLE COUPLERS WE USE CARE MUST BE USED UNTIL ALL THE SLACK IS STRETCHED, AND THIS CAN BE AS MUCH AS 25 FEET ON A MILELONG TRAIN! SLACKED STRETCHED THE 4 ALCOS MARCHED WESTWARD EFFORTLESSLY AT IDLE ENGINE SPEED! WHEN THE CABOOSE REACHED THE DEPOT, THE CONDUCTOR GOT ABOARD AND TOLD THE ENGINEER TO HIBALL IT! THE ENGINEER HAD A REPUTATION OF HAVING A HEAVY THROTTLE HAND, AND SOON HAD THE QUARTET OF ALCO POWER AT NOTCH 8! IT WAS A NICE QUIET NIGHT AND THE SOUND WAS OUTSTANDING!! I WISH I HAD A VID PHONE IN THOSE DAYS, THE SOUND WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN LOST!! KEEP THEM ROLLING BROTHERS!👍👍

Pakistan Express, Allama Iqbal Express & Millat Express have 18 coaches and there are few extra attached in rush season then 20-21

GRU locomotive horn is same as RGE 20 5107

zcu 20 should be attached with an Express. but Lahore wale to iss ki beizati kar rahe hain ☹☹☹

There are no facilities for handicapped, special assistance persons.. No access of wheelchair passengers.. Majority of old or people on wheelchair suffer alot on train journeys. There SHUD be some initiative for facilitating special assistance persons. Like reserving the seat, cabins, berths near the entrance, bathrooms SHUD be equipped with handle bars and WC COMODS,, CLEANING OF BATHROOMS AT REGULAR INTERVALS DURING THE JOURNEY..... FOOD QUALITY ON STATIONS N IN TRAINS ARE NOT AT ALL CHECKED, MONITORED.. NO FOOD QUALITY STANDARDS ARE IMPOSED OR IMPLEMENTED... SOME ONE SHUD WORK ON THESE BASIC ISSUES... SHEIKH SB JUST HAPPY IN POSTING PHOTOS, HERE N THERE AND IRRELEVANT SPEACHES.. THERE IS NO SAFETY, QUALITY, PASSENGER COMPLAINTS BODY AT ALL.. MAYBE PEOPLE WHO HAVE EXPERIENCE OF TRAVELING AGREE WITH MY POINTS.

I think 1st 1 for sergohdah and 2nd 1 for sialkot

I agree with you but they are not direct employees of railways. They are actually employees of contractor. Permanent Railway employees enjoy really good benefits.

Post is good but it is not good for railway and very bad for sheikh Rashid sahib. Railway authorities are doing the same thing as shown in post. Lahore station has many plate forms and too many staff working on Lahore station. But people are feeling problems. All type of problems are present at Lahore railway station. What so ever problem comes in your mind that is present on Lahore station. For booking problem. Poor information. No direction and guidelines. Late trains. Seat reservation. Over pricing. Of tickets. Cheating and fraud. No cleaning. No water in trains. What so ever problem you think it is seen at railway station Lahore. Sheikh sahib are introducing new trains but no safety is provided to awam. Ticket prices are too much awam can not afford. Government is using railway to punish the awam why one man threw the shoe on sheikh Rashid at Lahore railway station.

Situation is quite better now as portrayed in your comment bro. The only bad happening is due to some incident, the trains get late.. PR can't handle this situation.

This is totally bull shit, there is no safety manners, On the one plate form only one train can stop and stay and time for departure should be the gap of 10 minutes.

Only can happen in faltoo rlys of Pakistan !
