Not only reflected in the furniture but the colonial era seem to be continuing with the station master having a garden reflecting his "pasand". His easy style is quite a contrast compared to the no-nonsense SM at Chak Pirana (who reflects the GT Road?). For some reason in the early sixties in Bengal, marriage feasts always had Aloo Bhukhara Chutney (served with Papads). Guess costs of Aloo Bhukhara had gone up (like everything else in that decade) and the menu switched to Pineapple Chutney in the seventies. Havelian still has the old lamps with "dias" but change is happening there too with computer booked tickets for all trains on PR made available side-by-side with the daily tickets (coming out of vintage machines).

It is corrupt and unfortunate that Pakistan couldn't extend it to further north like gilgit, or skardu or even Muzaffarabad... It is all british made... We wish Pakistan will extend it to China border, and areas of North kashmir...
