This is the only channel I'd approve ads being on. They deserve to have their videos monetized - most channels really don't deserve to make money when all they do is parade their 100 bath bombs around. This channel is saving lives and they need money in order to do so. Anyone else wanna help get KZread to monetize VET RANCH? And before people are like 'this isn't advertiser friendly', need I remind you that Pedigree and all anti-cruelty and humane-society programs would gladly put their ads on an animal-centric, humane-centric channel? Come on, KZread. Prove you're not completely dying.

My 8 week old kitten Mau mau got attacked by our dog and it popped her right eye out. We rushed her to a local emergency vet who after looking her over told us it would be $600 for the surgery, $50 for the pain killers they had already given her and $150 for the antibiotic and pain meds to take home. We couldn't come close to that $800 was more than my rent! They called another vet for us who agreed to do it for $200. The surgery was a success, and afterward he told us there was no charge! She had some complications her wound didn't drain and got infected which spread to her brain. we took her back 7 days after her surgery they drained the eye and put her on intravenous antibiotics. she did recover but the infection stunted her growth. Even at 2 years old shes only about 5lbs. I love her very much and will forever be grateful for the kind vet who saved her.

+Theresa Hopkings people need to realize pets have problems. i got insurance and regret not getting it sooner. if they cannot afford vet bills don't get an animal. we spent 1000$ for nothing. had an upset stomach turned out there was nothing wrong really.

I love that you understand that when people find a hurt animal, even if they want to provide a great home for them, not everyone has the money on the spot to fix a major problem. money isn't what makes a loving home & I'm so thankful vet ranch is facilitating these rescues in a way that allows more people to adopt unwanted babies! thank yall for everything you do!

I sure hope people don't shun these animals when they're in animal shelters. If I saw an animal missing a leg or eye or anything I'd quickly adopt it in fear no one will be willing to love it because it's "handicapped". poor things

Vet Ranch Other than medicine, why is there a need to have a great amount of donations to assist these animals? For example you sever a limb and stitch it. Why would that procedure normally cost so much money? It cant be just cause of labor can it?

Cj Bran It's not the surgery alone, it's all the medication, the x-ray, medical stuff (needles, threads), animals need to feed and make their business somewhere. And then it's all the other small things like electricity, water, heating for the house and things like that. :)

Cj Bran They need to keep the animals while they recover and to observe them while they heal. So the surgery may take only a few hours, and use a few hundred dollars in medication and resources, but they need to pay for their food and shelter(ie: the veterinary building) while they recover and the staff that is trained to handle any emergency. Also anesthesia is more expensive than most people realize, which can often be the bulk of a surgery's cost.

All I have to say is thank you guys who fix these animals and everyone who donates for these critters. I had a kitten who I named Misfit, that from a very young age had problems. The story when I got him was when someone had opened the fridge my curious kitten tried to check it out. Well the person wasn't paying attention and caught little misfits head in the door. He had a little kink in his neck, but it wasn't anything too bad. He was still a playful and happy kitten. I took him home when he was about 6 or 7 weeks and let me tell you, he was a spoiled and very loved little boy. About 2 or 3 months down the road he started getting constipated and had stopped walking (his back legs seemed to have stopped working)... I had just turned 18 and was only working 2 days a week at 4 hour shifts. I tried to save my money as fast as possible to get him to a vet. Luckily I had a friend who was a well known animal activist who got Misfits story out there. He became a internet sensation and became famous almost over night. We set up a account with a local vet and people donated left and right. Finally Misfit was seen. His X-ray showed that poor little Misfit was suffering from a very severe case of scoliosis. His spine curved so drastically that it literally blocked his butt which constipated him. Although he was still so very sweet, he was suffering so much... There was no way to save him and his scoliosis was just too severe. I hated doing it, but I made the decision to put him to sleep. I was with him when he took his last breath. It broke my heart, but I knew he was no longer in pain. If it weren't for all the people who donated Misfit would have suffered for far longer. So please if you want to help animals, donate to places that help treat animals that would be turned away because there simply is no one to pay for them, or for someone who genuinely can't afford it.

Kids and kittens! Boy did you get upstaged!! LOL!

Two more great saves! We had a one eyed cat, best mouser we ever had. When he was a kitten he had distemper. I didn't have much for money so the Vet had me take him in so he could check him and his temp. I gave him the meds at home and fed him with a dropper. At one of the Vet visits he fell off the table, I couldn't catch him in time and he whacked his eye on the wheel of the table. A blood clot formed and it couldn't be dissolved, so he lost the eye. The Vet told me Cliff would have to be an 'indoor cat' ... ya, right! Tell that to Cliff. He only came in to eat and also in the winter to warm up. He was such an awesome cat.. we shared a very special bond. He was really smart too, if he was inside he used to scratch at the door to get out so he could meet me when I got home from work. He knew exactly what time to let the kids know! I really miss him. He lived to be 19 yrs old.. and he's been gone for almost 19 yrs. I had him cremated and some of his ashes will be buried with me.. my kids want to do the same. .. Oh! I was watching your 1 eyed kitten chasing the ball, our Cliff used to play "hockey" with my son using bottle caps! Keep up the wonderful work you do!

Dr. Matt, you are one of the best examples of “real life Super Hero”, there could possibly be. Thank God there are real men like you in this world. God Bless and thank you to you and your staff!!!

You should donate to kill shelters too. They depend on the people in the community to help with donations, fostering, and other programs they provide. Its up to use to keep these animals living. No one goes to a kill shelter an say they want to kill an animal. Alot of people commit suicide every year for having to take the lives of innocent animals. No one works there wanting to kill them. They want to help save lives too

best way to make kitty friends? food. namely chicken (usually baked cold chicken with no seasoning or sauce) or baby food of the meaty variety. im a socializer at my local shelter so bringin shy guys around is what I do.

I'd love to have a kitty just like her.

Every two weeks they killed, but only once a month did they neuter. ::smh:: Taking out the garbage path is right past the wheelbarrow by the incinerator. Seeing animals that you processed in a few days ago dead makes you wonder why you got scratched, bitten, chased down, pissed on, crapped on, had to bathe the puke off.... Why am I volunteering?

This is why I am going to be a veterinarian. It brings me joy to see these animals find better homes and be happy after suffering. It also brings in tears of joy with it. :,^)

lI adopted 2 dogs, one had just weaned her pups and one had only one eye. No one wanted them because of it....but I did. The mama has got her girlish figure back and the other with her one beautiful eye is amazing. Adopted animals, whatever they look like are the most grateful and sweet. Peggy almost look like my cat. But my cat is missing right now. I'm mad at the person who stole my cats. First my black and white kitten, then my grey and white one and now the one that looks like peggy is missing. Three of them is missing and all of them has nice coat. Like I don't want them to wear collar ,cause you know that it leave a line on their neck and my cats are really smart. After I wear the collar on them, they remove and hide it from me... Hope no more missing in the future
