I met Monyae at Dymally High after he transferred from Hawkins High. This was a few months before he passed. I asked him if he banged and he told me No although he told me he had family in Hoover. Not in East LA but in South LA. Im a former ECC gang member. The F13 attempted to avoid blood shed, not once but several times. Years b4 some ECC killed a F13, and the issue was squashed. even with the stolen dope, F13 did everything they could to avoid beef. Later on we had a beef with SXL. The issue, a former ECC who was smoking dope snitched on the SXL because he killed his friend. The SXL attempted to reason with the ECC to stop testifying and he told the SXL memeber to his face, he was go tell. Eventually the SXL did what they had to do and killed him. ECC decided he was worth going to war over even though he was snitching. Just my honest opinion. The Ese;s have been a class act, until it was war time, thats when they got brutal. Just keeping it 100.

Condolences to the family and may God bless those two young lives that was cut short. As parents we have to take accountability!!!! What is your 15 year old doing out that late? Growing up I had a curfew. At 15 I had to be home by the time the sun went down. As parents we know what lurks the streets especially after sundown. Ain’t no way I’m letting my 15 year old be out the house that late. It’s sad that this still goes on today but at some point as parents when we are still legally responsible for you and your living under our roof there’s gonna be rules your gonna obey and gonna follow. Most of my friends had no curfew growing up and sad to say majority of them are no longer here they never made it to see 22. At the time I hated my parents for giving me a curfew I felt like the uncool kid but as a grown man that’s 42 now I thank my parents for their discipline and now as a father of 3 boys I raised them same. My oldest is 22 and he moved out and is doing great. At that age I can’t tell my son to be home especially when he lives on his own but at 15 years old their still a baby you have every right as a parent to give them a curfew.
