What breaks my heart when I watch these videos is that even after the cruelty that these dogs have suffered through, they somehow know that "these humans aren't here to hurt us more, they're going to help us" - you can see it in their eyes. Since I'm seeing this 11 years after this happened, I can only hope that all of these dogs got a second chance at life and lived the rest of their lives in loving homes with soft warm beds, lots of treat, lots of hugs and kind words, and never having to be in fear again. God bless the people who work to help these poor babies.

heres the best example of how good these dogs are, breed to fight and mistreated by the human owner, but when the rescuers come to help them no signs of human aggression towards them.

Indeed. I’ve seen many as I volunteer and even some who were rescued from fighting they’re were sweet and welcoming. I have a pit mix myself who didn’t have the best puppyhood and he is the biggest baby who jumps at any opportunity to get belly rubs and love.

Paul Mojo the dogs in this video are real apbt, they are animal aggressive by nature but docile towards humans. Most real pitbulls are human friendly. 95% of real pitbulls wont attack humans.

I can't stop crying. What a great organization. These rescuers truly love animals and show so much compassion for these suffering dogs.

Pitbull's have a reputation of being fierce if trained that way, but its common knowledge that they are one of the best and gentle of family pets. Bless everyone at the humane society for the care and compassion you give. One day when circumstances allow, I want to adopt a rescue dog and give it the most loving home!

Where are the vicious pit bulls? I can't find them. All I see are powerful looking dogs, happily wagging their tails, with big smiles on their faces!! :O love them

The better question is how do they know they were being fought for sure. My pitbull has scars on her, but I never fought her a day in her life. She has however picked fights with a few dogs over the years...

Always heart warming to see so many puppies rescued from a life of pain, fighting and neglect. They will live full, happy doggy lives thanks to the amazing people of HSUS.

The only way dog fighting is going to stop, is if the perpetrators do hard time. They need to go to jail for years. Perhaps even indefinitely, because the sadists who engage in this cruelty, would do the same thing to people, if they could get away with it.

It really breaks my heart when I see how we humans can treat animals so poorly. But seeing other people help to get them out of that environment and give them the lives they deserve renews my faith. As someone whose family has adopted three dogs (all of whom are complete sweethearts), I feel proud to have made even the slightest difference in their lives.

It's devastating to know what they've been through. It's also devastating that a kind touch is a day maker for them. But their faces when they're being rescued just makes tear up. So precious and beautiful. A true example of forgiveness.

This is enough to make anyone cry,even me You have been an inspiration to me and when I'm old enough (I'm 13) I will help you find animals a new loving home

The same kind that promoted human generational slavery for over 400 years Sir... Dr. Joy Degruy wrote a book on Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome. As a foster Momma of over 7 abandoned terrier mix amazing dogs this video brings both tears of joy and relief that hopefully all of the animals forced into this lifestyle will be saved! Many are put down labelled as vicious breeds when only their humans are dangerous.

its all about money. They don't care about the animals. If their dog loses. they either kill them or toss them out. Lets not get real jobs. Lets just hurt and mangle puppies and dogs.

I feel so bad for all of these dogs. Thank you for saving so many animals.

This act of cruelty needs to end! As a dog lover I would never do anything like this to a dog! Dogs don't deserve that what they deserve is tender loving care! They don't have a voice were their voice they can't stand up for themselves we are the ones who will stand up for them and get them the help they need!

Most people think that, but these dogs are just so friendly and so grateful for a hand that caresses. That's why I love staffies and pitties so much - they would do anything for you, they just want to be loved.

Thank you, thank you. Every one of those dogs are beautiful. They deserve warm laps, loving hands that gently stoke their fur, endless water and food, toys and fun adventures. I hope they are all healthy and now have happy LOVING homes.

hsus I know this was in 2011 but what happened to all the pit bulls that you rescued. I love pit bulls I rescued my first pit bull she was 12 weeks and already started to be a bait dog she had bite marks down her Legs and a big bite mark on her nose that you can still see till this day. But she is now 4 years old still has some issues of trusting other big dogs but small dogs and cats she loves. I can't believe people would do this to these wonderful dogs all these dogs just wanted a family love and warmth not put into a dog fight rink it is horrible that they did this. people like this needs to be taught a lesson. and we need more people like you to rescue this struggling breed and make people rethink of what they see about pit bulls. just because there owners want to make them look mean and bad they are not. they are beautiful wonderful and great with children dogs.

i wish there are fight cages in prosins and that there are no toilets and no showers that these guys, which did and do that to creatures which cant even really fight back (or get killed if they would) get the same threatment ... i hate violence but more i hate violence+ferocity

You're angels. all of you, helping others to fly.

I am glad I donate to the Humane Society to stop things like this from happening again. No dog should be forced to fight. They are mans best friend.

You can tell dogs are a mans best friend. They know who to trust.

I'm always amazed by video of rescues of dogs used in dogfighting. These poor animals that have been raised to fight for their lives and are considered to be so aggressive and viscous respond immediately when they are shown kindness and love by the rescuers. Look at these dogs...scarred, scared, abused, and exploited, and yet a kind touch has them acting like enthusiastic puppies that just want to be loved. Love is what every dog wants, and what every dog deserves.

I have so much respect for people who work to save animals. Thank you so much, you guys are true HEROES :)

These 'velvet gladiators"..wonderful pitbulls. Amazing creatures, forced to fight, and subjected to cruelty. Yet when they are rescued, handled with kindness, good vet care, socialized and shown that people can be friendly - they just blossom. We proudly support the brave, ongiong work of HSUS. Its absolutely incredible how these dogs can go through so much hell, be ripped and torn apart their whole lives, never knowing what a real home is, and yet, they are still able to forgive. They're still able to let a human, the one animals that hurt them most of all, hold them, pet them, show them what real love is. We truely do not deserve dogs.

It is truly amazing to see the hope and love flood back into their eyes. "Saved" dogs are forever grateful for their new lives. Anyone who has ever had a rescue knows this is true. Bless you all! Let's forever change the bad rep Pit/Pit mixes have. Awful human trash cloaked the breed with an automatic death sentence in some places, but wonderful caring humans can now take THEM out of the fighting rings and step in to fight FOR them.
