Kids that know how to treat animals, a mom that flew to Nebraska to adopt a St. Bernard, and a dad that looks at dogs on the internet. That's a solid family.

Morgan Yarbrough animal cruelty at an early age like that is a strong sign of how they’ll grow up. It’s one thing to learn to be more gentle and another to need to be taught not to innately want to hurt other animals/people. I’d see if you can get someone to take the dog from him. Sounds like it’s not a safe place for it.

@@HaliteHorizons most likely. Dogs can feel the same way about it as humans, which is in a basic strategic safety kind of way: "small X can be aggressive, but their maximum potential for damage is low if they are a threat, ergo there's just less to worry about with smaller X, even if larger X seems friendly enough." This is why (especially for adult males) when approaching new dogs body language is very important. Kneel down to look smaller, turn palms up in a nonthreatening way, no sudden movements, etc. Size can be intimidating just for its own sake and no other reason, so it is important to establish trust that even if you could hurt the dog you never would. In my experience with dogs, I have heard of those with, "male fear" but they don't show fear if you show them these things, and I conclude that the cause is actually "size fear;" if a large woman approached them without considering these aspects the dog would still show fear, but not for a male who recognizes this.

If you interact with your dog at there level i.e level eye contact they don't feel overpowered, That's why dogs love kids as the kids go down to them and don't feel threatened.

@@iangoldsworthy2056 funny story there's actually a St.B nearby me. I was out walking my little 40 lb McNab/Border Collie mix Zoot when we ran into each other. Zoot was terribly intimidated by the St.B, raised up her hackles, tried to puff herself up, while the St.B was not intimidated whatsoever he did really want to play and proceeded to try and follow all the rules I listed about trying to look small and non-threatening. Every time Zoot growled he just tried harder. Unfortunately she just wouldn't get over his size and relax, so I moved along. I just thought it was so funny to see the massive dog try his hardest to look small, while the small dog tried her hardest to look big. That was actually my first IRL encounter with a St.B, he was so patient and engaging with Zoot, it's a shame she wouldn't warm up to him, he really seemed like a Saint of a dog.

3 years ago, we adopted a 125lb bull mastiff, Benson, who’d been used for breeding. Well, he was about 100lbs when we got him, because he hadn’t been fed. It took months before he’d venture out of the one room he’d decided was safe. Benson is now a big goofball who takes over the bed and rolls over for tummy rubs. I've had rabbits and I think it has head tilt which can sometimes be permanent. Torticollis. It can be caused by many different things but since the owners are such responsible people, I'm guessing they've done all they can for the bun bun.

Yes, that is exactly what I thought! I even reviewed the clip several times, freeze framing to see if that buns had head tilt. It might just be the ears flopping to one side, not the head. At least I hope!
