The risk is that you have untreated rellaations and circunstances which you just ignore further with drugs.. Depression comes as a result from doing stuff you don't want and ignore your feelings. Or as a result from trying to accomplish something which you continually fail.

I'm 33 as well and started taking 50mg of sertraline in May, my birthday month. Been on it a month now and it has been life changing. I can now go on walks and do self care tasks and actually get out of bed in the morning to face the day. Even making myself something to eat feels easy now. I'm hoping it goes well for you ❤

Diabetic people aren’t shamed for taking medication they need, should be the same for depression and anxiety! Thank you for being open and honest about this, mental health is health and it’s nothing to be ashamed of. I’ve had depression and severe anxiety my entire life and I do not think I would still be here if it wasn’t for the help my medication gives me.

Diabetic medication is an extremely scientific process. When you take insulin it is measured and a scientific process followed each time you check your levels. These are mental drugs that get you strung out and having to take more and more as your tolerance builds to the drugs. They are addicting and there is no way to test to check exactly how many mg of drugs you need; very different.

Loved that podcast episode on taking medications! I recently found myself dealing with quite a bout of anxiety and waves of depression suddenly. I'm open to medication but currently doing "as needed" and therapy (I too get paranoia, especially now with flights, doctor's appointments, random things). I've been able to be myself again after 3-4 months of therapy work but boy, is it an everyday struggle. Appreciate you being so open about it!

Totally can relate! I'm 41 and been depressed and anxious most of my life. It's really been childhood abuse, malnutrition and the loss of my brother when I was 13, bullying in junior high and homelessness and multiple rapes in my young adult years. So My whole life has been pretty sad and full of trauma! I've tried to kill myself multiple times in my teens and had a eating disorder. I've been on multiple medications and hospitalized 4 times. I am on cymbalta for the second time and am really trying to get past the side effects! I take it during the day and I can still sleep pretty okay this time. I am feeling much better already! The side effects subsidied quickly this time! I look forward to months 2 and 3. Your mental health is everything! Never take it for granted and always do good for your own mind!! Keep it up, beautiful!! You deserve it!! On the positive mental health journey too and it's the best way to Live!! Muah, xoxo 😘 🔥

The first week I’m taking 25 mg and the second week I bump up to 50 mg and then I see my doctor in one month to see if that dosage is good for me but she knows I am wanting to start and hopefully stick with a very low dose.. I am just so ready to be happy again and to be able to make the people I love happy again.
