Has anybody ever told you that you are a very effective teacher? Great videos and breakdowns. I appreciated your attention to detail and your ability to correctly anticipate the kinds of questions your audience may have. Thank you for the great videos!

I started bowling last September and have been using the one handed method. I am going to try to switch to two handed and look forward to using your tips. I really like the way you show what your are talking about before you ever throw a ball. Most bowling videos expect someone to be able to see what they are talking about in full motion. Thanks again.

Thank you for the help, haven’t been able to find that many two handed videos like these. Most of the videos that I have found are all wash and repeat drills, which is a surprise since two handed is so prominent now

So what other KZreadrs are providing these quality lessons?
Huh. I always thought it was the steps that generates the speed. I'm just saying my opinion but I think having the swing be straight is good. Swing the ball behind the back is bad. That's why you see a lot of pros walk to the right (especially belmo) so he can create some space for the swing.
@BigSkyBowler
Жыл бұрын
Combination of steps and swing together. If your flexible enough to have a straighter arm swing while keeping a straight swing path.
Your videos are good. Thanks! But in your demo at the end you mention how you turn the shoulders to get ball height in the backswing, yet your ball height barely gets above your waist. Can you explain??
@BigSkyBowler

It only goes as high as your range of motion allows. The more spine tilt you have, the higher the swing can be. Back when I made this video my spine tilt wasn't as horizontal as it is now.
I picked up 3-4 MPH on my ball speed due to this. Cant believe I was missing this part.

Do you change the amount of shoulder rotation based on your intended line and ball path? So if you are playing more up the boards do you use less rotation as opposed to playing deep with more rotation? Thanks for posting these videos!!!
@BigSkyBowler
2 жыл бұрын
I do not as this is a vital part of the two handed swing. My feet control my launch angles. If I need more up the boards, I square my feet up. If I'm trying to project the ball to the right, my feet point more to the right. Your welcome, and thank you for watching!

Is the thumb hole still drilled for the two-handed bowler, or are just the finger holes and no thumb hole?
@BigSkyBowler
Жыл бұрын
Normally just two fingers however, there are some two handers who use their thumb.
Hi from Las Vegas, your detailed tutorials are a pleasure to watch. The SHOULDER ROTATION was hard for me to understand until you broke it down for both one and two handers. Discussing how to practice shoulder rotation was also very important to build proper muscle memory when on the lanes. THANKS !

Just curious, but I noticed when you throw the ball gets a bit too much around you in backswing. Is that ok or is it preferred for the ball to work more up and behind you?
@BigSkyBowler
Жыл бұрын
Every two hander has a tendency to get the ball behind their heads a bit, especially those who have a more muscle engaged swing. Small amounts are ok (one ball width) but if it's more than that, you will definitely want to work on solving that issue. The best way to work on this is to try and reduce the amount of muscle your using to engage your back swing.

I'm a 60yo male, right with thumb, trying to convert to two handed no thumb. I'm hooking a plastic gut to gut. Problem is my ball speed, it's only 9.6 mph so far, I'm standing at the line with my right foot 3 foot behind my left, with me trying to project the ball forward.
@BigSkyBowler
Жыл бұрын
With only 9 MPH at the pins, I can imagine it'd quite difficult to control the added rev rate. If you feel that your timing is good and shoulder use is correct,, try moving your feet a bit faster to gain some ball speed. Take a look at some videos of Walter Ray Williams JR and his 2 handed throw, he's able to get the ball up to 15-16 at the pins.
Wish these had all been around when i started like 2 years ago, lord knows what bad habits i have now haha

When I try to rotate my shoulders, it causes the ball to go behind my back, causing chicken wing swing.. How do i fix this?
@BigSkyBowler
4 ай бұрын
Without seeing a video, I would guess that your shoulders are rotating horizontally instead of vertically. This is the most common cause of a chicken wing swing.

@BigSkyBowler

I can understand that. The biggest thing I dealt with when I changed from one handed to two handed was feeling like I was muscling the ball. The two handed swing does include more muscle use than not. It's a very awkward feeling at first! Thanks for watching!
