Those little fish are called silver sweep. Also, the yakkas are good eating too. In Japan they call them Aji. They have very specific tackle and techniques that they use to catch them. They are great sashimi as well.

How do you prep them as I have caught some of eating size but they tasted terrible even tho I bled them and iced them and ate them fresh

@@Questionabletesticle search “how to eat Aji”. Personally I like it as sashimi. Fillet, debone and skin. Slice thinly and dip in soy and wasabi. On the bigger fish, I’ll also trim out some of the red meat.

Just a small tip, so it doesn’t stick to the pan. You want to put a bit of oil , get it smoking hot . It will put a polymerised layer of oil to make it non stick . Then you can add more oil to cook with. (Don’t use the oil you used to add the non stick layer ) also skin side down, leave it for longer. It will naturally “unstick” after the skin gets crispy

Love how you're talkin about 8 lb leader being light. I used 4 lb leader a lot and catch 30 lb salmon on it in streams that are only about 12 ft wide! You want to talk about fun let me tell you!!!!!! I have so much fun fighting them. I get lost for a day at a time fishing for salmon just having a blast. I'd like to see you use light leaders and catch some of them bigger. That would be awesome

yea, for stainless steel pan, there is a dude talking about "spot seasoning" method, similar to your technique. Worth giving a try if stainless steel pan is the goto pan in the wild. kzread.info/dash/bejne/laqAwc9yXaSsobw.html

Hi Mate, it’s like a 4 mile hike over headlands and beaches. You gotta carry your own water in so not many people do the mission! There’s lots of zones that are super crowded in Aus but if you’re up for it you can still get areas like this to yourself 👍🏼
