Whether you are invested or not, this is extremely terrible all around. Shame on GW.

I'm kinda afraid now about Kill Team. KT makes some of the best infantry sculpts for 40K, but who knows now? Kinband? Fellgors? Navymen? Could all be gone. Hell, Gellerpox are already Legends.

I feel like all the releases from this season of kill team have been bland. Almost like they are just big 40k units first and kill team models second.

The whole "SCE Warscrolls were too bloated" excuse would be fine if I wasn't 100% certain they're going to bloat it right back up with new models.

Bonesplitterz, not -splinters. XD And Beasts got the amazing amount of... Endless Spells, Herdstone, that Beastlord and an Underpants warband. Still more than Bonesplitterz - but those were also "only" a subfaction of Orruk Warclans. Either way, seriously scummy develpoment, but discussed to death in other places already. I just feel sorry for everybody hit by this. :/

Horns of Hashut were such a cool idea. But they were just tears in the rain.

The thing with the SCE being the poster faction for AoS is that they are an elite army, much like the marines. If you are trying to introduce someone to the hobby and the game, you want something quick and easy to paint, who dabble in a bit of everything. (again much like the marines.) You don't want something like cities of sigmar that would take a good bit of work to get ready for a game (i think they were considered or were the poster faction before, as they were the layman army), and you don't want an army that goes down a niche (like say seraphon who don't have a lot of shooting)

A dark time for AOS indeed. Ogres are probably next. I'm thinking about fully migrating to OPR.

So I checked on the warhammer community, and the Ork and Custodes Combat Patrol rules are still there... you scared me 😱

What they should do is offer free base replacements rather than force us to buy them

This makes me worried about my naked dwarfs. They are consistently on the bottom of the sales reports.

The changes to the 40k CPs make me wish that the Combat Patrol Magazine would launch soon. Because for me, it would be a nice way to get the now old Orc and the soon to be replaced CSM ones (plus the extras). For AoS, the Stormcast and Skaven, it was bad on GWs part to not show us all of the upcoming new and remodeled miniatures first. This would have cooled down the whole situation a little bit. And like you have already mentioned, a good amount will just come back as remodels or the old ones are still fine as proxies, especially for Stormcast, considering the amount of overlap in their range. The fate of BoC was somewhat written on the wall, with the announcement of the ToW main factions. The same way that more than likely the rest of the old Imperium, Dwarf and Elven models will be moved over to ToW. Still sucks for BoC players that wanted to stay with AoS and I fully understand their disappointment. Same for Bonesplitterz players, but some of the models are fallen out of time and it too was a matter of time before they would go (even though I think the rank and file units would still be fine for ToW). The only weird thing is the removal of the WarCry warbands. Sure, they bloated up the Slaves to Darkness range, but are way too new to go away. Maybe condence them into a "Chaos Cultist" warscroll that can be used for all of them?

You can run the older stuff as other stuff. Proxies are valid. Most people who had BoC armies around here already ran them as StD anyway.

It ain't easy being green with how they are doing the Orks and Orcs. Feels like we are sliding backwards on choices while units that needed updating are still waiting.

You need to understand, all the plastic used to make non-Primaris models needs to be recycled into more Primaris.

Where the previous edition codex is no longer valid, and all factions get rules at the same time until their codex comes out for the current edition

well think they have removed a lot of models and rules for them the last few years. Last year my Seraphons got hit, then my Nids lost some, my SM lost the 30k models. then i lost some models for my Necrons. now i lose the warbands for my Slaves to Darkness. :(

will those combat patrols be still valid to play in the CP format ?

It's a casual format and you will still be able to download the rules. For those players who didn't buy the box, they'll be treated like the White Dwarf CPs, you'd have to buy the models separately or proxy them to play.

The main problem is the warcom staff, they probably don't play the games so their attachment to sculpts isn't like ours. GW needs better editors and a new warcom team. They've been atrocious for years now with wording and rules interpretation mistakes. Pour one out for aos.
