Two Big Decisions On The Ranch This Week.
Үй жануарлары мен аңдар
This week was just another one in paradise. We love spending time in Colorado and seeing everything It has to offer. We finished our fence which was a big relief. We picked up the newest member of the ranch squad and we also made a very big decision to sale crow. Watch the video explaining why. He will be for sale at the San Juan Ranch Horse Sale. Lot #15 bidding is available and here is the link. bidlive.xitwesternproductions...

I’ve worked and trained herding/gathering dogs most of my life. Congratulations on the new family member. I can tell you the two most important things I have learned. Don’t start them too young because they will get hurt and scared of work and second a good dog needs a backup companion dog to bail them out of dangerous situations in the brush, especially with pairs. You know how protective a cow is with her calf.

I completely agree, I am looking right now for her back up. Our cows are pretty rough on dogs and we need to get them a little more respectful. I will keep you posted on our hunt for another dog. Thanks for watching
Why does the young cowboy riding a roan horse never pulls his back cinch up snug? It on there for a purpos roping and going down hill. As loose as it is could cause a wreck. And have a nice day. Beautiful country that God has created
Good looking country. Lots of feed wow
Great video. Would, regret letting Crow go; but completely understand. That pup should make a fine addition, for what your needing. Haha, that fawn said "Nope, you came one step to far, see ya". Thanks, great footage, elk, grasses, flowers.

Thank you Sharon, Crow is going to be a pleasant surprise to who ever buys him. We sure have struggled letting him go, but you are right, he will represent what we try to have here on the ranch.
Sweet looking pup. The Aspen trees are looking good as well as the lease pastures. Have a blessed week to the all of the 1880 Drifters

Thank you, the good ones come in all shapes, sizes and colors!!!
Fingers crossed it will be many years before you have to do that fence again...Kelpie crossed with border is brains and attitude. Already shows signs of a thinker and they turn out to be the best❤. It's a toss-up of whether the flowers in the desert or high meadows are the prettiest .tough call on this 🌼. I have to say who ever gets Crow is gonna be lucky. I love his long distance form. Honey touched bay😍 Great horse 🐎 ❤...

@shawnjack8092 Well, chuckle you can always keep him. And do another sale❤️
Very pretty flowers and wildlife there in Colorado. The new fence looks great there in Colorado. Is Trayson a fulltime Ranch Hand there on the 1880 Drifters Ranch? How do people get a job to work on a Ranch? That was cool to see that herd of Elk.

Hi Willie, thanks for the suggestion. Have a great week
Good video and good luck at the ranch horse sale.
Looks like the little guys approve of the new pup
The herding dogs always make things a lot easier for us, we’ve had a lot of luck and really like the border collie kelpie crosses. We have mostly registered border collies from good gritty lines with a lot of bite for bad cows. I’m still wanting to try out a black mouth cur for our forest permit but we’ll see. Thank you for another video I always enjoy them, hope you had a great Independence Day celebrating the greatest nation where we have the freedom to ranch and worship the Lord Jesus.

Hi Noah, we love Black Mouth Cur dogs, you will be happy with them!!! I sure hope this pup has some grit to her because she is going to need it with some of our trashy cows. Thanks for watching

Great video Crow looks like a great laid back kinda ranch horse, somebody gonna take a liking to young hoss! Now let’s talk a little about herding dogs I am quite sure the young B.Collie xKelpie will make an outstanding herding dog,but I want to recommend you do something I don’t know if you have ever watched videos of the Dagley Ranch if not you should this guy raises trains and uses Hanging Tree Cow Dogs and I am here to tell you they are amazing to say the least!Best of luck with your new puppy can’t wait to see what you name her she’s a cutie!I guess you guys will probably have some of the horse sale in one of your videos be looking forward to that!Keep on Ranching!🐕🐂🐴🐂

Hi, thanks for watching. I have seen their dogs and I agree they are amazing. We do not have any hanging tree dogs around here or close to us so it is hard to find one. We would love to try one some day. We will be posting during the sale, so we hope it all goes good.
Cute little puppy 😍
I've always thought that it would work better having some black mouth cut/catahoula dogs to use with my herding dogs so I believe your going to really enjoy that combination and looking forward to seeing video of them working together

Okay, I thought that had to be some type of Onion. I picked some and the root had a very strong smell. it is beautiful, I can't believe that is an Onion!!!! And the paint brush grows on the desert, but it is much smaller down there. Thanks again, I love these flowers.

@@shawnjack8092 The entire plant is edible, even the blooms. Don't eat too much of this onion at first, the flavor is quite strong.
Cute edition to your ranch. Hope the pup works out for you folks. I'm not sure I would be able to sell Crowe, though. He's not the best looking horse that you folks ride, but he is still nice, and just a well rounded ranch horse. A good ranch horse needs to be able to kinda do everything and Crowe can do it. He's a good one! Thx for another good show my friends. Best wishes to you folks.

If you treat your work boots with neats foot oil your feet will stay dry/ it will turn your leather a slightly darker cloror but it is well worth it.

They do not, but they do tell us we have to build back on the same line as the old fence. We try to clean it out the best we can. They let us clear brush, but the do not want us to dig up or move lots of dirt.
Thanks enjoy the video.... thanks little dudes

Curiosity has got me wondering how come your horses aren't covered in flies? I'm in Western New York state and the flies here are ridiculous. I use fly spray and swat paste. Thanks for sharing your videos.
@shawnjack8092

hi, out in Colorado the flies are not too bad, however the horse flies are terrible. I spay the horses with fly spray every chance I get. Now here at home in the corral the flies are much worse and we keep fly spray and fly traps up all the time. Thanks for watching
