Mountain Lion with Warner Glenn | Bear Grease Roadshow

Спорт

Warner Glenn is an 87-year old rancher and dry ground lion hunter in Arizona. On this episode Clay Newcomb explores the story of the Glenn’s ranch, their hunting and Warner’s incredible legacy. Warner is certainly one of the oldest living, working cowboys in America and isn’t showing any signs of slowing down as he and Clay hunt mountain lion.

Warner Glenn reminds me of the man that I work for part time at the moment. During the week I teach in a small school in Montana, but on the weekends I work as the night calver during the spring calving season on a ranch. The old man who's family I work for is 85 and just as sharp as ever. He still works incredibly hard, and can read when a cow is about to calve better than anyone I've ever seen. He was an incredible pilot back in the day and used to fly biologists to do game surveys, take hunters to remote areas, etc. He's always up around 5am, when I'm close to ending my shift and he always comes down to the barn with coffee to visit with me if I'm not caught up with something. I love hearing stories and wisdom of 80+ years as a rancher, pilot, hunter, wild land fire fighter, and miner. These men are to be treasured, and more of their stories need to be told.

I cannot express how excited I am about bear grease becoming so big, Clay has become my favorite guy to follow. The way he goes into subjects with such genuine curiosity and the depth of the research he gives to subjects is honorable. Not to mention the quality of topics he chooses, Warner Glenn is a look back to a by gone era but at the same time an idol for young men of today to strive for. The world needs more Warner Glenn's and Clay Newcomb's.
