Goodbye Desert/ A Tribute To Our Favorite Place

This week we got the last semi load of cows off to Colorado. It was a relief to get everything settled over there. We will take more video of everything over there next week. We decided to show you some of our favorite clips of the desert this year as a tribute to a year we will never forget. Thanks to everyone who watches and supports us.

I never realized how beautiful the desert could be until I started watching your videos! The breathtaking view, the beautiful flowers & the vastness of the desert are kind of spellbinding! I hope the cows stay where they belong better than they did last year in Colorado. You guys did a lot of fence fixing up there🥴 Thank you for another awesome video & the work that you put in to share your lives with us. God Bless

Shawn & 1880 Drifter’s loved toe video today. The recap of the winter made shiver at the snow rides. Can only imagine what it felt like that day. My biggest regret since my bout with COVID in 2020 is it put me on O2 24/7. It took away the wife and our plans of traveling back up to Utah. We can’t go like we wanted and planned at retirement. But I am so blessed to still be here and we both thank God for it. Sorry! It is so beautiful up there and I love all of your posts. Have a blessed week ❤️❤️❤️

I looked up the plant you asked about and it is called roundleaf buffaloberry. It is a species of bullberry. Apparently it has berries on it that early settlers would make a sauce with to put on buffalo meat! It only grows on the Colorado Plateau.

If you cannot find all your cows how do you know whether or not a predator has eaten it? The desert is really a pretty place. Love the intense colors of the flowers. Thank you for showing us the flowers and everything else the desert has.At least the one you use. So now what do you get to do? Take a well deserved vacation?

Hi Helen, I wish we could, but we start right in out in Colorado. We will explain more about that next week in our video. We keep very close books on our cows. We know that we are out 5 cows, that are still on the desert. We will be looking for them starting tomorrow. Most of the time we find them, but sometimes we don't. It is not very often that we have a Predator kill a cow, most of the time it is sickness or old age. But we don't rest until we find them all. Thanks, see you next week

We are jumping right in out in Colorado, so it won't slow down any. This week we are going to try to find some of our missing cows. We have a lead on one of them that is a chronic runner, so I am taking dogs in the morning to see if we can get her. So hopefully next week will be a great video. Thanks for watching

The Paint horse really stands out on your videos. Do you guys ever butcher one of your cows to eat? Jaden the calf wrestler. You guys could get a muffler for your mics to help cut down on the wind when you guys are filming. Do you guys breed your horses? Do you guys do horse training as well, like Colt Starting and things after the horse is started?

Hey Ty, good to hear from you. Hope your surviving the heat down there. We do raise our own beef to eat. We have several feeder steers each year. We do have mics but it is such a pain to wear them all the time, that we just leave them home!!! We get most of our Colts from Black Diamond Ranch. Kenny Black has a top notch breeding program and we love his horses. We are always riding colts and have 2 that we are starting now. Take care
