Yeah it's just really really excellent manipulation tactics. It's not a real apology. Abusers CAN be aware of all of their behaviour, but they will use that self awareness to fool their victims into thinking they are reflecting and working on it. It's guaranteed he'd repeat his abuse cycle and go back to abusive behaviour if that voice message caused her to return to him.

Yeah I agree. I was an abuser because of my incecurities. When my gf had any emotion I sensed as "dangerous", I would panic and do everything in my power to fix it. She tried to tell me she just wanted and needed some alone time in the bedroom to chill out and just be allowed to be sad. I would not tolerate that and would follow her into the room and begging her to talk to me and help me not feeling panicked. After I had done stuff like that for a year after we moved in togheter, she started to retaliate when I pushed her. This was a sign that she didn't like me in my eyes back then, wich made me retaliate and just escalating everything. Alex reminds me of myself, but a more extreme version, and it's obvious for me that he has some insane invecurity issues. I would not recommend anyone being with people like me and Alex, we need to figure out our own shit before we are ready for relationships. If you stay with us, you will feel crazy, and the chance of the us changing are slim af. For me, it took about 10 years before I finnaly stopped having negative reactions to her normal human feelings, but no one deserves or should go trough that for even one day, so 10 years is a bit much you could say. I had the mindset that I had good intentions, therefore I can't do bad, I think. It's fucked up.

This may be a hot take coming from a woman who has been through many different forms of assault but I would still take my chances with a man over a freaking bear! Chances of me being killed by either are relatively low but not absolute zero and quite frankly the argument is very very dumb and invalidating to both. A man isn’t more likely to hurt a woman than a bear. Also statistically, men will hurt/kill other men over women. It’s the bear that will hurt/kill *everyone* regardless of their gender, race, ethnicity, etc.
