It sucks because I was in that situation. I was 13 and groomed by a guy who was 20. He made it seem like age was just a number, but don't tell anyone, he gained my trust, we talked everyday about gross, sexual things but I liked his attention because I was a hormonal teenager. He groomed me and we were in a "relationship" til I was 19 and another girl that was groomed by him reached out to me (we had a small following on social media and his real name is on all his social media) and it really opened my eyes but I still felt afraid to go to the police thinking "it was my fault" or "he was a nice guy" or "I wasn't raped so he can't be a predator" but now I'm 21 and 2 days before my 21st birthday I finally reported him but I'm so scared I waited too long. I have a police report number but I haven't heard anything and I'm scared that because of the statute of limitations, I waited too long to get justice. I'm glad to hear people are reporting him for the predator he is. More victims need to be proactive instead of wasting their lives away for people that just want to manipulate and use you.

As a bit of a YanDev expert I would just like to contribute that he has written a lot of disgusting fanfic, and also as someone who went to college in Computer Science, I could have written better code after like 1 class (literally switch statements are one of the first basic things you learn) and instead he made something that makes your eyes bleed immediately upon looking at it. A lot of programmers have made videos on it, they're really good and I definitely recommend watching them lmao.

I think I can offer an explanation for the VA's and such only quitting now, there can be several reasons: 1. They legitimately didn't know about any of it. Some people avoid drama as much as they can and just figure "If it's that important it'll break through my bubble". Others are too busy to look into things and some just didn't hear about it via algorithm stuff. 2. They knew about it but since (as far as I'm aware) there's was no solid evidence for any claims they figured they'd take the risk and just work with him anyway hoping to god that all the allegations are indeed false or giving the benefit of doubt. I wouldn't blame them for doing this, The Boy Who Cried Wolf is a famous story for a reason. 3. They only interacted with him on a pure professional level and did not look into nor interact with him any further than working on the game with him. Very disconnected which would lead one to not being up-to-date with whatever is happening with the dev. 4. They didn't care and just wanted to get the game completed or get paid. As I said previous, as far as I'm aware there were allegations and all those weird ass posts and stuff from his past but once again there was no solid evidence. He was just a rancid trashbag of a dude but there was nothing concrete enough to pin him as anything other than that so they just grit their teeth and worked with him.

The Cult of Yan-Sim isn't exactly going to die off from this... here's what I think is going to happen: 1. Alex apologizes and says he needs to step away (already happened) 2. Alex remakes his Discord with his most loyal cult members and continues collecting funds from brainlets 3. Several months have passed and now AI-voicing for the game has either been complete or near complete. 4. With AI voicing having been near/completed, he'll use this as proof of game development to try and lure in new funders to keep the scam going. I hate to say it but, I don't think Alex is going anywhere- he's a true lolcow, and no amount of canceling really affects lolcows.

Scott Cawthon originally developed Chipper & Sons Lumber Co., which wasn't meant to be a horror game but received negative reviews as the characters were unsettling and resembled animatronics. Seeing this, Scott then decided to make FNAF. This is key, Scott is able to take criticism, take a failure and turn it into a success. A massive, blockbuster success. Meanwhile Alex has a massive victim mentality and has a compulsive need to make himself the victim in any situation. At every turn, he has to be the one who has been wronged or sabotaged. That kind of mindset just isn't meant to succeed.

Thats as far as I can remeber, I'm surpised that I remeber so much after so many years -_-

the enko thing isn't really weird or even notable imo because it's just an actual thing that happens, and from what i recall it's one of the few things he managed to handle somewhat tactfully (it's treated as a serious and very traumatizing thing that she's going through, which is better than many japanese people's perspective on it...) but it was one of the first times he actually added something cohesive to the game (ie giving you a reason to kidnap a character rather than just being able to use them as a weapon, being able to manipulate a rival into staying away from senpai without killing them).

omg i remember back in 2018 this fool kept making videos claiming that emails were stopping him from working and also making a sob story that everyone was bullying him when he was confronted about his old 4chan posts, art stealing and shitty attitude to volunteers (most volunteers were minors lolol)

Honestly anyone who was working professionally alongside this guy for *years* can't have just had NO idea the weird shit he's said, done, and BEEN saying and doing for so long. He has never changed. I feel for anyone who only had minor interactions with him professionally and had no clue what the game was about beforehand, but on a closer professional level, the vast majority of his team should've known better too. This has been a long time coming

Also, the school is owned by the leading electronics company in the world (in the Yansim universe). Can you imagine a school being owned by Apple or Microsoft ?

People will still donate to him through Patreon, like they have done for years, he will let everything die down and continue to "work" on the game and release a buggy, half assed demo somewhere in the 2040s. Everytime he has been caught in some sort of controversy, he has simply brushed everything under the rug and blamed his behaviour on "stress from working on the game" or straight up blamed his fans. Not so fun fact: There’s a kitten that sits by the school in yansim and years ago yandev was considering adding a feature where you can unalive it and bury it with a body to throw off the police dog. He didn’t go through with it because people were rightfully upset about it. Also in the video/cutscene about Ayano’s backstory, she’s shown holding a cat and it’s implied she unalived it to “feel something”. If you have a cat, please make sure to give them a hug and some pats, both for your sake and my sake.

Yep, Jay, Bijuu, Markiplier, and several others. They're the ones that carried this game. I don't think they knew about what else they were supporting, though. It's tragic what monsters emerge from this platform and how common it is.
