As an old fan of the new grounds community I've been watching their content since 2010 and lately (the last 5 years) it's been sad watching airn change and reject his former peers, this drama was the boiling point to something that has been heating up under the surface for awhile now. Airn definitely deserves criticism off this as he attempts to hide from it as of late, people are saying this drama is trivial and pathetic and too an outsider looking in I can see why they'd think this, all I can say is that airn has burnt bridges and has rejected the ones close to him because they don't fit his new agenda, the criticism from fans and other creators isn't about the pelo video it's about everything he's done these last few years that he's avoided criticism for through his echo chamber.

Drama videos are necessary for KZread. Before 2015 there were no commentary channels or keemstar to hold youtubers accountable for there mistakes (yes I know they existed but these channels weren't mainstream like they are now). Creators like bowblax I believe are doing a good service by providing a more detailed in depth look at the drama by archiving these Twitter posts. Off what I have seen bowblax isn't being biased to push his own agenda like other drama channels, I wouldn't call drama inherently negative as creators should be held accountable for there mistakes and learn from them like normal people do cause they are just normal people who have gathered a following through their content. There are plenty of "drama" channels that are negative but bowblax i don't believe is one

Captain America it wasn’t what he said that pissed people off it was how much of a hypocrite he was being. the video itself wasn’t that serious, yet arin took it personally and absolutely needed to say something about it. I like arin and the rest of GG and want him to succeed but he needs to keep himself in check sometimes so things don’t go to his head.

Also they generally try avoiding talking about people who genuinely annoy them/are dicks cause they don't want any external KZreadr drama, especially if it can ruin their enjoyment of content creation. Chris isnt really a fan of Pro Jared (i used to be a big fan now i think hes pretty creepy and weird now) but he sorta just kept quiet and made harmless jokes about him from time to time. They all just feel real and not-fake at all, and it's probably why I find their humour far more enjoyable compared to Arin's modern day...'humour'?

Oney in support of DD and Julian cut ties with Arin. There was alot that happened behind closed doors but Oney doesnt talk about it. With other friends too, like Cory. He talks so big and shits on other people's work (often it's deserved, but he seems to draw an invisible line between big game studios and smaller artists when it comes to who is worthy of criticism, see topic of this video), but buckles under it himself. He should take a few pages out of Dan's book - knows shit isn't that deep, pro-free speech, has extensive experience as a performer in multiple capacities and knows how to handle criticism, or even hate....oh, and he's funny.

I agree with 90% of the tweets and criticisms made against Arin in this but this doesn't make sense. Although you COULD criticize him if he just never said anything, you cant criticize his paragraph for not being an apology if he never wanted it to be one. He never specifically said he was going to make an apology and as such didn't do so, and that's why he doesn't cover any of the main points.

This popped up in my recommendation and I just remembered this going down: The truth of the matter is: the internet is not your friend. It is rather dangerous. Whatever you decide to put out there can and (most likely) will be used against you when the timing is right. Twitter is one of *THE* worst places to speak your mind. All it takes is one tweet. One tweet can ruin you. If you are a somebody and say one wrong thing. Boom you’re done. I like Game grumps and think Arin is alright for the most part. Do I support what he did? No. Should he have gotten “canceled” over it? No. People love to hate on others until they are the ones being hated on. People change and grow up. They may be older but they can still be making the same mistakes back then as they are now. The problem is how the conflict rises from almost nothing, into a completely blown out of proportion problem that is unacceptable in someone’s eyes. Times have changed and it’s honestly changed for the worst. Everyone is so divided and are just waiting to tear someone/something apart. It’s a sad sight to see

Part of the problem are drama channels who tend to bring to light issue that suddenly occur, and say in this particular instance, was resolved within a few days. But because channels immediately posted on it it blew up into something bigger than was needed. ProJared was similiar to an extent. Though that whole thing is a still a bit hazy for me with how both sides handled it. I think the problem with all creators, is that they're so focused on their online presence, that anything that happens automatically has to be posted online. Rather than people taking the few moments to calmly work it out behind closed doors, everyone regardless of drama goes to the internet to say some shit and always starts drama. TL;DR: People need to stop publicly posting such controversial topics or opinions, regardless what side, because whether they mean to or not, a shitstorm always follows and nobody ever ends up being the winner.

They read out his username and enough information for rabid fans to track him down and harass him on Twitter, and he had this giant "who does this guy think he's helping?" rant. If he was more empathetic, or at least a little smarter, he would have at least said "please don't harass this guy, even though we're making fun of him" Since then he also had this uncomfortable "Were you a pained child?" rant about people who liked Sonic and the Black Knight, as well as looking up, reading, and making fun of random positive reviews of Zelda: Skyward Sword, generally being an asshole to people who have different opinions to him. I think a big thing that fueled Arin's reaction was the fact that he's protective about young creators. This is something he's been very vocal about on his own platform for years and I just think he genuinely doesn't want to see budding animators get discouraged from making a living doing what they love. and not a single line in Arin's tweets did he say Pelo should we move their video or not State their opinion. He just gave his own opinion about the video and what it seems like to him. I've noticed a pretty toxic trend away back of going after the storytime animation group and it's understandable that someone like Arin would say something about it. The type of humor he had during his Newgrounds days seems irrelevant to me because he was just some edgy teenager. Now he's in his thirties and a much larger influencer. Because of his shift in perspective it's understandable why he would want to say something against that familiar *SEEMINGLY* toxic kind of criticism. Despite the video on questions true intention, Arin just gave his opinion. Despite what his opinion may have been, positive or not, I don't think that we should start breeding a culture where public figures either give positive criticism to everything or just sit in silence. He saw something that he thought was mean. That's all there is to it.

It just feels gratuitous for all these people to have such high opinions on Arin's simple review of a video. It's not like he called anybody out or went after this guy with pitchforks, he just simply stated his opinion on an animation and how it made him feel. I think people's visceral reactions to others who don't share their same opinions is startling. Yeah it's initially jarring. I thought the video was incredibly funny. But to claim a minority opinion as "drama" is a bit extra to me.

📂 SubsArchive Yeah he's an influencer but that's still HIS Twitter, where he shared HIS opinions from HIS perspective. there's no marketing, or brainwashing, or flock leading going on. He just simply gave his opinion on a video. And I think the reason why so many people are getting angry is because not a lot of people share that opinion. I personally loved the video but I didn't think there was anything wrong with Aaron stating his opinion because it doesn't matter. It's not my opinion and it won't change my mind. But I do find strange though is how heartbroken and viscerally angry everybody is just because he didn't agree with everyone else. He said what he wanted to say hey and I think that if the people who are fans of him really like his him so much then they should just let the man think for himself and leave it at that.

Probably, yeah, but he was trying to sheild people from possible negativity nonetheless. What I got from Arin's longer apology was that he's forgotten the meaning of the word "joke" and gotten vastly more pretentious and thin skinned. I know some people could get hurt by jokes but he acted like a satirical video does nothing but stab vicious emotional wounds in those it's making jokes of. He has and still does make fun of people, whether intentionally or otherwise, so it's just beyond insane and sad that he's fallen in the camp of jokes being just as bad as legitimate hate.

It's funny because back when Egoraptor first started uploading on NG, he was the joke. He couldn't animate for shit back then compared to the other greats like oney, stamper, Leg frog, sam and richie , Johhny Utah etc etc.

Naomi but when was the last time he’s done that? When he’s a voice in a show he’s almost always there as a cameo, there’s less “we hired this guy cause he’s good” and more “haha look we got the KZread video game guy”. Arin has an ok vocal range but he barely utilizes it in his roll. Its just his normal voice.

I truly believe Arin and Pelo were both the most mature and grown up people in this. Hell, Pelo made an animation as a joke about it soon after to show no hard feelings. Arin brought up a problem he had, pelo explained that it was all a big misunderstanding and everything was fine. People just wanted to continue the drama or a reason to gang up on either guy from past events (E.g. oney and spazkid) and then their fans and friends join even if they dont know the whole story.

i 100% dont think he even watched the thing u were probably around back in the ng shit, u remember how genuinely meanspirited those videos/ppl got he prob had a flashback 2 when he was a kid full of emotion n felt bad 4 that kid so he wanted 2 help out but hes 2 inundated w/ that new wave pc shit, so he missed the mark so badly that no1 is having the conversation he wanted 2 have n he doesnt even realize it
