Well, yea, that's how new information works... conversations typically happen when something big happens to cause the conversation to begin (IE leafy getting banned), no one cared before because it wasn't related to them but what happened to leafy does relate to them because it was a ban on a creator who is well known in the social media sphere. If you think people are honestly scared of calling out leafy, you're straight delusional, the problem isn't "Leafy" calling people out, it's the follow up his fans bring that cause issues for creators. One big case is the pokimane discord banned word list, the list isn't there for pokimane's weak mind who can't take critism, it's because leafy outright encouraged people to brigade her community and cause issues to it, so the natural step is to get rid of people who ONLY show up to cause problems.

It's not a shame to be wrong and change your mind about certain stuff. It's the mature thing to do. You are speculating those things aswell, you don't know for sure so thats that. It’s interesting asmongold uses the “pivoting” argument so much. The points the people were making are still valid. I don’t think it really matters if they switch up the conversation, as long as it is still a valid point. Just my opinion. I haven't watch Twitch since watching GTA V livestreams way back when the game was brand new.

I think one of the saddest things is that Leafy wasn't even too brutal with how he thought of Pokimane. He just said she was unattractive and joked around with keems OG tweet that started it all. I don't remember hearing any actual insults (you can consider someone unattractive if that's how you feel, only a insecure baby would take a genuine opinion like that as a personal insult. People aren't obligated to think you're attractive.) So he basically got punished because he doesn't think Poki is as hot as all her simps do lol

The issue with Leafy is that he mixes his criticism with plain and simple personal attacks on people . I do not agree with his deplatforming but i do think he kind of deserved it. He has openly spread fall info (Granted in the past) Hes openly given out private info on people hes "Criticising". He wants freedom of speech right? Well then he should not be free of the consequences of his actions.

Assmongold is doing the whole "twitch vs. youtube" thing a bit late, trying to save face because people are and have been getting on his ass about watching entire videos with no cuts or commentary, and he feels personally attacked by the criticism brought up against Pokimane.

Let's get this straight. Harassment is when you literally stalk a person over and over. Asmon's definition of harassment isn't legally true. The videos might be ''bad taste'' or whatever you think, but its not harassment, end of discussion.

You can definitely be harassed directly from people sending you things constsntly over and over, whether that's in real life, but at the same time, over the internet, of people call you insults and jokes indirectly on some other website or a forum and don't directly send it to you en mass, then it's not harassment. You need to understsnd how the internet works instead of using wikipedia definitions and in real life scenarios instead of focusing on internet ones that are *very* limited. In fairness to him, as shitty of a take he had with this, he's one of the streamers that don't just steal content. He'll react to something, and add well over 30 minutes of his own commentary and opinions about the video. He's not in any way like Pokimane who just sits on her ass and eats food while not contributing anything aside from a cringy forced laugh or some stupid comment. Almost all of Asmon's reaction videos are well over an hour long when the video itself is around the 30 min mark.

If you saw how hypocritical his tweets were and you still deem him in the right, then that invalidates all your opinions instantly. Although he has some takes which are intellectual, he is altogether a dumbass and his judgment of a situation is crowded by his relationship with the focus of a video. Due to the size of his platform he should not be giving biased takes as it would lead to uneducated support from his sheep supporters who deemed him as the wise one of twitch.

I was exactly the same with Disguised toast, although I was a relatively new viewer, found him funny, but him just devaluing the outright ban and deplatforming of another creator left a bad taste in my mouth and I lost all respect for him. 6:12 it's literally not complicated, imho Criticism is when one points out faults of another with the clear intention of either encouraging the person who is being criticized, to better themselves/make changes or to force the person to take accountability. Harassment is constantly attacking the person for everything but not giving any valid arguments against the person being criticized and instead relying heavily on insults. It's in response to asmongold's stance on criticism and harassment not in relation to leafy being banned. I am speaking more in the sense of Gundam's video. Also, in defense of the creators who were demonetized for multiple videos covering Suzy Lu's copyright infringement. They primarily contained valid criticism and opinions of their own, in respect to the situation. The fact they made multiple videos, should not meet the criteria of harassment. Because people have to make a conscious decision to engage with a video via watching or commenting on it.

It might also smell of higher level twitch streamers to not only avoid disrespecting other streamers, but actively being pushed to defend them. Unfortunately I doubt we'll ever know the true reason for as long as he remains on Twitch, as the creators there tend to conveniently avoid trashing their platform. Regardless, I hope he goes back to just playing WoW and avoids chiming in on drama like this, as he clearly tosses his logic (which is usually very sound and reasonable) in the air to defend Twitch and any actions which benefit it.

Most of it was indeed criticism (to me) and other videos were just clickbait to get you to click on them because it had pokimane in the title when the actual video was leafy talking about supply/demand, "what should I eat? I think I"ll get wendy's" etc. I think the only issue I had was the very last video with the 3-4 minutes of animation. Most of it was funny but there was that obvious part that was pretty "uh what" and even then that should've been a takedown at best or at worst a strike.

I used to be an Asmongold fan, I've been watching the dude since I discovered his videos back in Mists of Pandaria (around 2013) and I thought he was hilarious. Then he started streaming around 2015 I believe and I watched him almost every day, did Ashran and lots of viewer raids with him throughout the end of WoD and almost all of Legion. Then he started to become a fake. Faking his personality, his opinions, his content. He tries so hard to pretend he is this wholesome 30 year old balding man who would never call someone a faggot or the n word, which he has. Or pretend he is some toxic dipshit to his guildies or randoms whenever he isn't streaming. Somebody who didn't vote for Trump (which he did, and will vote for him again). Somebody who clearly doesn't despise the radical left media. All that for the validation of Twitter so he doesn't get cancelled for being "problematic". But his hypocrisy is slowly catching up. I can't wait until his "i support deplatforming" comment comes back at him. It's gonna be hilarious.
