It's actually not that smart, unless you devote your entire life to it. It's a full time job to keep track of enough coupons to justify the time spent. What I mean is, sure you saved 300. But you also spent a week or 2, collecting, keeping track and planning the coupons. If you worked instead - you would have ended up with more money.

Depends. To keep track, collect and plan all those coupons might take you a week. You might be better off just working and not caring about coupons. To have those results and be actually worth it - you have to make it your full time work. Meaning you buy all this stuff and maybe re-sell it.

Now that I coupon, I realize that this isn't so extreme. Lots of couponers have stockpiles and collect things they may not need. They just donate or share it with family. The thrill is in getting it so cheap.
What is the point of getting a load of stuff you don't need? They still spent money. They would of been better off not getting the things in the 1st place. Still spent 60 bucks on stuff they won't use. Makes no sense.

As a mother of a 3 year old, a bit of advice to any future mothers out there. NEVER stockpile diapers. Babies grow weird. My daughter as a size 3 for a long time while her 1 month younger cousin practically skipped from a size 2 to 4 before her. You can also never be sure if that brand will work for your baby (some will always leak because the baby is moving around a lot) or if they are allergic to that brand. Believe me, that is not a fun thing to discover. Same thing with baby food, pacifiers, even shoes (not all brands are good). You can get clothes, but don’t get a ton. You will usually get a lot from family and friends and babies grow fast too.
