@@Steelee3 we have to verify everything and read everything. If coupon policy says no overage, that means hunting down everything and doing a price inquiry on everything and inputting the amount that comes up. Even worse when it's a limit item because then that's even more fun lol.

My family knew a lady down the street who was an extreme couponer, and she opened her home to allow a lot of the low income families to get food, toiletries, snacks, and drinks, etc. It really helped us so my parents could pay bills and not have to get as many groceries bc it was always in stock thanks to this sweet lady.

Not trying to judge, but couldn't this be considered an organized form of hoarding? I mean when she said to donate or have a neighbor shop, that would be really great. Let's face it no one is going to be using 48 bottles of dish soap, or 128 or so bottles of shampoo, and conditioner, all of those razors etc. Someone who was struggling to make ends meet would probably really, really appreciate anything at all. For someone in a shelter many of those things could be a huge blessing. I know at the end of the day it's hers and she can do whatever she wants with it, but if she doesn't plan on using most of the items rather than collecting dust or being a trophy section of her couponing, someone in need could, and should get some use out of some of the things there before they go bad. Personal care items, detergents, ETC. do have a shelf life. Most of those items if ever they were going to be used that is, would most likely be past their expiration date by the time she got to it. Also, she is only accumulating more, and more at this point. Definitely should give to those in need at some point.

When I did couponing years ago, this is what I did. I had specific things I would buy, like feminine products, detergent, etc. that I knew people on SNAP benefits couldn’t buy with that program. For example, I donated two shopping bags just of tampons to a woman’s shelter, Gain laundry detergent (which I don’t like but had great coupons) to our local food pantry, etc. I figure if I had the knowledge on how to get things for almost nothing, the least I could do was to try and help others. I liked it-I felt happy.

True. As an example, deodorant expires within a couple years at least of being purchased. If she has 105 containers of deodorant, I doubt she will be able to use them all by 2023... :) Sounds like she's wasting time and would have a lot more money if she actually worked at a job for 60 hours per week! :)

I have friends who lived in states where you could double and sometimes triple coupons, and they said it was a nightmare when these extreme couponing shows were popular because the extreme couponers would literally clear the shelves of all sale items, without regard to people on a budge trying just to get their families needs met for the week. Rather than take even a dozen items, they'd take all 36 that were just unboxed. So if you wanted to get a couple of boxes of mac and cheese on sale for your kids, you were out of luck because one person took all that was in stock.

You have to read the coupons more carefully because it states 1 coupon per purchase meaning that item ……. Some coupons say one coupon per household same as you seeing one coupon per customer but not all coupons say that probably only 1/4 or less coupons say that. There are coupons saying only 2 like coupons per transaction nowadays but I guess sometimes even that doesn’t matter depending on STORE policy….. meaning you can over exceed and use more like coupons per transaction

Coupons have changed in limitations likely due to people like this. She's not doing anything wrong, cus stores don't really lose much from 1 or two extreme couponers buying thousands in stock and spending pennies to the dime on it- that's a rare case compared to the hundreds of other customers that bring them way more money in a day. And if the store provided coupons then she's got every right to cash them all in whenever she wants, but it was probably hellish for cashiers to scan extreme couponers out. now there's limitations on coupons. but sometimes you can still find some without limits and you just have to read the coupon very carefully
