Fascinating! I love the time lapse, but I also want to see the green slime appearing in real time. What was the time span of this 43 sec. film?

@zabyt21 I took 1 image approximately every 2.5 seconds and it was converted to 30/fps video, so 43*30*2.5 = 3225 seconds (about 54 minutes)

My girlfriend and I recently stumbled into raising caterpillars, and had no clue. Another thing from childhood we were lied to about all these years.(in our late 30s now). Lmao They actually shed their outerskin(molt) 5 times. The 5th time being what you see above. The other times they end up not moving for almost a day as they do it, then nor waste as they eat what they shed afterwards.

@@ophadamia2579 Technically 5. 1st to 2nd 2nd to 3rd 3rd to 4th 4th to 5th 5th to Chrysalis. And that's only for monarchs.

Acleanblankslate Yes. Moths make Cocoons, Butterflies make Chrysalides. (Non plural is Chrysalis.)
