twenty one pilots literally saved my live in 2014-2015. I stopped listening to their old music but today I was depressed in bed, with my bad thoughts and I started singing migraine all of the sudden. I was like "how can I remember the whole song" and searched for more songs. the nostalgia brought me so much joy... top is literally one of the best bands and it will always be in my heart. they saved my life so many times.

Same here, their songs helped me through some rough times back in 2016 but I stopped listening to their music in like 2018. One of my friends from that time still listens to them and went to their concert yesterday, and I was suddenly reminded of how much their songs were important to me. Decided to listen to their music again and the nostalgia is real!

I remember these guys had a small "concert" at my college years ago....It was completely free and only about 20 people showed up. And afterwards they gave out free CDs that only had 3 songs on it----this was one of them. I'm really amazed at how far they have come. They absolutely deserve all the success they now have!

@celestia ludenberg Yes and no. My college had a pub-like restaurant with a stage where all the free performances took place. I was there to get food with a friend while the band was playing. I was intrigued by how much energy and passion they put in their performance (usually only local amateur bands played here and many weren't very good lol), so when they finished my friend and I went and grabbed a CD. A lucky coincidence.
The fact that more people don't know this song makes it even better. Feels more personal.

+D.J. Ryals actually, in one of the interviews he said that on the very first tøp show he was very nervous and just sat there at the piano, and afterwards he realized it shouldn't be that way, so at the second show he let go and did all to just be himself. and when it ended his family who was watching came up to him and asked him if he's okay and whether he needs to see a doctor 😂 so, technically, he was a weird ass showman from day second :)

That transition to the upbeat is just heart warming
I wake up fine and dandy but then by the time I find it handy To rip my heart apart and start Planning my crash landing I go up, up, up, up, up to the ceiling Then I feel my soul start leaving Like an old man's hair receding I'm pleading, please, oh please On my knees repeatedly asking Why it's got to be like this Is this living free? I don't wanna be the one be the one to have the sun's blood on my hands I'll tell the moon Take this weapon, forged in darkness Some see a pen, I see harpoon I'll stay awake 'Cause the dark's not taking prisoners tonight Why am I not scared in the morning? I don't hear those voices calling I must have kicked them out I must have kicked them out I swear I heard demons yelling Those crazy words they were spelling They told me I was gone They told me I was gone But I tell 'em Why won't you let me go Do I threaten all your plans? I'm insignificant Please tell 'em You have no plans for me I will set my soul on fire What have I become, I'll tell 'em all On the eve of a day that's forgotten and fake As the trees, they await, and clouds anticipate The start of a day when we put on our face A mask that portrays that we don't need grace On the eve of a day that is bigger than us But we open our eyes, cause we're told that we must And the trees wave their arms and the clouds try to plead Desperately yelling, there's something we need I'm not free, I asked forgiveness three times Same amount that I denied, I three-time MVP'd this crime I'm afraid to tell you who I adore Won't tell you who I'm singing towards Metaphorically, I'm a whore, and that's denial number four I'll stay awake 'Cause the dark's not taking prisoners tonight oh oh oh Why am I not scared in the morning? I don't hear those voices calling I must have kicked them out I must have kicked them out I swear I heard demons yelling Those crazy words they were spelling They told me I was gone They told me I was gone But I tell 'em Why won't you let me go Do I threaten all your plans? I'm insignificant Please tell 'em You have no plans for me I will set my soul on fire What have I become? I tell 'em You have no plans for me I will set my soul on fire What have I become? I tell 'em I tell 'em I tell 'em I tell 'em Please tell 'em You have no plans for me I will set my soul on fire What have I become? I'm sorry
This video truly shows the humility of Tyler Joseph. He isn't phased by fame not one bit. Even in 2013 when he wasn't as famous, he still put his 100% into his twitchy movements and performance, and nothing has changed to this day (not including the damn hiatus). This right here, is a TRUE role model

I love the representation of being able to do anything if you put enough heart and dedication into it. The fact that Tyler and Josh were confident enough to know that they would be able to make it from 12 people to 12,000 people and wait to finish their video idea that spawned in 2011 really just shows how dedicated they are.
One of my dad's best friends knew Josh dun personally cuz Josh worked for him. He covered for Josh when he went to play their small concert of 12 people. (Het let Josh go drum instead of coming to work) concert and other drumming events when TØP was first starting. They've come so far now and he still knows Josh now. From 12 to 12,000 |-/ ||-//

This is Tyler and Josh at their peak in terms of how far they can take their sound and how diverse it truly can be. Listening to this album nonstop during high school was an absolute treat. TØP forever.
I love tøp so much, they really changed my life, the first time I listened to it was at school, I heard it and fell in love, I asked my dad if we could buy a CD of twenty one pilots, he said sure, then I wanted to listen to that CD for HOURS, Tyler and josh, I know you won’t see this but, Thank you so much, you are amazing.

I've known about 21 pilots since car radio came out. I never really followed them till they got real big. Anyway, I really regret not looking into their older stuff sooner. This made me very emotional. The story, the lyrics, everything. I know they will never see this but from Car Radio to Ride to this song, you have truely changed my life simpley by yelling in a mic and beating on some drums. Thank you so much!!!

Their older stuff is for sure some of the best! Ive been around since early vessel (even though i was pretty young at that time) and that era is probably my favourite (might be nostalgia giving me a bias though). Always great to see people discovering and properly exploring their earlier catalogue! Deep diving a great bands music is one of the best things, what i would give to be listening to this or any other of their songs for the first time again hah. (btw not trying to be that person but some people can get funny with wording it '21 pilots' and not 'twenty one pilots', same with '21P' vs 'top' just for future reference but its no big deal)

The end gives me chills every time, I love you Tyler.
I am currently dealing with chronic pain in my shoulder that runs down my entire right arm, and sometimes even migrates to my left side. I'm pretty sure it was caused by an injury a couple years ago when I was only 17, splitting wood to heat the house. It is completely ruining my mood, and my drive, and all I want to do is lay in bed because it just hurts o fucking bad. I am scared to go to the doctor, because I've gone several times to try and figure out what the hell is wrong with me, but everything comes back negative. I pray for anyone that has to deal with chronic pain it is the absolute worst. What makes me even more unhappy is the fact I am only 19 and I am in pain. Twenty one pilots has really helped me out so damn much, god bless you all.

This band has stumbled perhaps accidentally onto some of the deepest philosophy in the 21st century. I couldn’t figure out why they fascinated me, heck I don’t even like the genre, instrumentals, or singing style in principle, but I couldn’t stop listening.
