Over the last weekend of August 2016, the Tweetsie Railroad held their annual Railroad Heritage Weekend. Both of their 3ft-gauge steam locomotives were under steam for visitors, with ex-WP&YR 2-8-2 190 pulling the "Wild West Train" and ex-ET&WNC 4-6-0 12 pulling the "Tweetsie Special", which consisted of former EBT coach 5. Early on Sunday morning, both engines doubleheaded to pull a photo special through the fog, stopping for runbys at Dead Horse Trestle and the Frontier Outpost. They continued doubleheading the Wild West Train the remainder of the morning.
This was my first visit to the event since Railfan Weekend 2010, and I can't wait to return next year for 12's 100th Birthday.
