Tweetsie 12: Blue Ridge Sunset | ET&WNC Historical Society Convention
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Over Memorial Day weekend 2022, the ET&WNC Historical Society hosted their 32nd Annual Convention at the Carnegie Hotel in Johnson City, Tennessee. One of the highlights of the event was a Saturday evening excursion to Tweetsie Railroad in Blowing Rock, NC to partake in an evening photo special behind engine 12, the last survivor of the ET&WNC narrow gauge. As a special treat, the engine crew coupled former East Broad Top coach 5 at the front of the consist, making this the first six-car train to run at Tweetsie in many years. Departing just as the park closed, the special did two runbys at the Frontier Outpost and then again at Deadhorse Trestle before completing three full circuits around the mountain. The train ride would be followed by a dinner at the Tweetsie Palace Saloon and a slideshow presentation on the early years of the park lasting well into the night. Everyone who attended had a wonderful time, and I am looking forward to next year's convention. Huge thanks to the train crew and the convention organizers for putting on such a great show.

Wow! I’m so jealous!!! I love the frontier outpost footage! I never thought I’d see a day that 12 pulls a 6 car train 😂. I wish they did that on heritage weekend, amazing video! 👍

To make for more interesting photos.
I really have to go here someday. I feel like it would be easier to film trains because when I go to dollywood your tempted to ride rides!

@@SmokyMtnSteam I bet it is! Only if I could get a chance to go. I've been to the GSMR so I'm guessing it shouldn't be a problem to get to Blowing Rock from there
