TWEAKS: Tuning the Chuwi Minibook X N100 with Throttestop

Ғылым және технология

I was about to do some benchmarks, but couldn't myself and tune the TDP limits first. I also found out that "alright" is my overused word.

Awesome video. Chuwi gave me one of these and after I did my review, I replaced the NVMe and repasted with PTM 7950. The new NVMe is nearly 50% faster and temps never go past 65c even under load. I'm going to mess around with the CPU next thanks to this video!

Thank you for your beautiful videos about this notebook full of potential. You convinced me to buy it. I hope that you will make a video about the improvement of the management of the temperature with a repasting and/or any other solutions guide. Thanks again and congratulations for your channel 😊

Great job with the benchmarking. Would love to see a video on what you can do to increase the thermal performance. :)

Hello, good video, a question, this chuwi has palm rejection? I want to use it with a pencil from the same brand chuwi hipen H8

Thanks for your video. I'm using N100 for homelabs, like on a pc router form. The clock speed seems full throttled at loads 60-70% to 1.4ghz and 800mhz at full load. Any solution for this. Sorry with my bad english usage😅 😅

I repasted mine with kingpin kpx and my idle temps are around 35° C, i did the same 16w power limit as you and in the benchmark i only got to around 56°. I don't know if its the screen capture stuff, but repasting seemed to make a huge difference. I also got a score of around 31.225 at a max of 58°C for the highest overall. I did notice that even though the limit was 16w, it never got above 12.5w

Then you probably forgot to tick the checkbox which name escapes me right now, MMIO? And those are awsome results, I know what I will be doing next! :)

I didn't think about this either, but i also debloated windows, uninstalled edge, all the xbox stuff and some others, and i also think i was using razer cortex game booster to free up another gig of ram, so that also probably helped my score. I tried again, mmio was checked, it was set to 16w but still wouldn't go above 12.5w

@@nrvanderpoel76 That's odd. It seemed to work for me when I shot the video at least. Maybe we have different BIOS versions? I'm sure that the screen recording also took some cycles which is one explanation for our different scores. Looking into getting a capture device soon.

Do you know if there is a program that can make the fan run at a slow speed all the time, ive heard it kick on before and it drops the temps pretty quick, so id rather have it runs at a slow speed all the time. I tried one program but it couldn't detect the fan i guess. I'm not sure how its controlled

This is usually controlled via the EC chip, from what I recall their registers can be written to from the OS, but this is dangerous territory since EC controls a lot of other functions as well, Doing something wrong with it might result in a brick. Back in the day there used the be a couple of programs around that would allow this. Check getfancontrol.com/ but haven't tried it myself so might not work for the Chuwi.
