I would probably have to seal off the light bleed through with a little weather stripping... the older my eyes get, the more that sort of thing bothers me. It does look light a nice upgrade.

Sealing off the bleed through would be fairly simple. I like the Tach Industries more than the JNS because the mounting bracket is thicker and therefore the bleed through isn't as bad. It is a really nice addition to the bike though, I really like it!

Put mine on a couple of weeks ago. Easiest upgrade ever! Well worth the price.

Thanks Matt, I will probably end up springing for it since you had a good experience with it. Have been happy with their taillight kit and cheaper than the new JNS doesn't hurt either.

You bet! I think it is better than the JNS and I want to buy one for my 2019 now. I really like the taillight kit on the 2021 and the two really compliment each other.

I am glad you are happy with headlight upgrade because I have one in my growing pile of accessories. The Yamaha gods are moving slowly. No word yet.

I just ordered the Tach Ind. Headlight and the mudflap eliminator. I decided to do some upgrades over the cold months. I'll eventually mount a LED bar under the headlight. These Louisiana woods get very dark... Thanks for the review.

SWEET!! I love mine and they have worked great on the bikes. We have used them on the mountain at night and they are way better than the stock setup.

I just took a black microfiber detail cloth and folded it up to 4 times and slipped it behind the headlight. No light bleeds through.

I love how easy it is to install. Honestly I feel mu tdub headlight works lights fine. Now in high beam it seems to shoot up therefore my low beam gives better illumination. I wish you would of put both bikes in the dark alternating the headlights to see clearly which one truly shows more visibility. I know the led us brighter looking but I dont see the visibility difference in the dark. Can you quickly show that as an insert in your next video. I am truly interested in the led but I would like more clarity. Hopefully you can do that. Thanks very much.

Hey Victoria, thanks for the comment. These really are very easy to install and I think that if you are doing much riding at night they are worth the money. I will try to create a "Short" video with the two side by side so that you can see the difference between them. Thanks for the question, I appreciate it!

Hey Matt thanks for the great videos! I am selling my BMW K1200LT touring bike because I really want to buy a TW. I have been doing my research and your videos have been very helpful! Do you know the benefit between this Tach Industries light vs just changing to a LED bulb and keep the original housing. I know I have done this on my cruisers and it was a great upgrade! Just wanted your thoughts. - Lance

Hey Lance! Thanks for the comment and I am glad you like the videos. I think the only real difference between the Tach and the bulb upgrade is the flood lighting that comes with the Tach Industries light. We checked while we were out at the sand dunes a couple weeks ago. My brother in law has the bulb and it gives more of a straight beam light whereas the Tach does that and more of a flood off to the sides. I hope that helps and best of luck with getting the TW!

HEY MATT I INSTALLED THE SAME TACH HEADLIGHT AS IN THIS VIDEO ON MY TW200, I NOTICED THAT ON THE 2 ROUND LIGHTS ONLY THE TOP ONE IS FULL TIME,,,IS THE BOTTOM ON FOR HIGH BEAM? TIA

Hey Eddie! Yeah, the other one is for the high beam. It won't light until the switch is flipped.

Good question. I guess you could cross reference the parts list for the XT and the TW and see if the headlight is the same part number. If it is, I think you'd be good to go!

Hey Michael, as far as performance goes, it is pretty similar to the JNS headlight. The new on that is. The real difference is in the mounting bracket for the light. It is thicker than the JNS and the mounting points on the side are more adjustable for headlight angle. Plus, they are cheaper and the customer service is better in my opinion than the JNS. So, I would choose this one over the other for those reasons. Hope that helps!

Why hasn't most of the manufacturers? You'll see them on some of the top end bikes, but most smaller bikes still come with the halogen bulb.

If you really want the ultimate light add those enduro lights I was telling you about .

I haven't forgotten, that is why I said this was good if you wanted to add more "accessories" to the bike and those enduro lights are on that list.

I hope jns engineering gets you a morimoto headlight to compare so i know which one to get. Lol

Honestly, how often do you ride at night? I have never, ever. Maybe a few minutes at twilight. It's so rare that concern for night-time is just silly. If you are out at night, are you on a busy road where being more visible is a concern? I am sure a light is a light, when it comes to seeing another vehicle. Headlight is the weakest "mod" and is about as much of a myth as the "Deathwing" tire. Pure fiction. Yes, you wasted your money.

I ride enough at night that this does make a difference. I don't really ride in Urban settings but if I did, I would really want this because being visible to others is quite important on a motorcycle. IF you don't do anything like that much at all then yeah, the stock light is totally sufficient. Thanks for the input, I like when folks are honest even when it doesn't agree! Thank You!

You must have missed the part of the video where he talked about the importance of being highly visible to drivers during the DAYTIME and that this headlight makes the bike much more visible. What is the number one thing drivers say after they hit a motorcycle? ‘I didn’t even see him.’ LED headlights are a major step in improving safety for riders. He did not waste his money, it was a smart investment in the health and safety of his wife, kids, himself, and anyone else who rides the motorcycle.
