That's actually debatable. It could be that Klaus just enjoys his fights too much to put serious skill into it or is at least a lot more careless when fighting other originals as he constantly gets hit by things he has shown he can easily dodge or otherwise avoid when serious. Elijah may seem like the more skilled fighter out of the 2 when fighting Klaus or Marcel's army but Niklaus is the only stronger opponent Elijah has ever put up much of a fight against and usually gets recked by others as he was no match for Mikeal or beast Lucian whatsoever and had great difficulty fighting beast Marcel where as a serious Klaus was able to hold his own a lot better against Mikeal to the point where it seemed like they are evenly skilled and could go either way, Klaus held his own a bit better than Elijah against Lucian though was ultimately no match for him or Mikeal and Klaus was able to best and defeat beast Marcel in a serious fight to the point where he probably would have killed him had he not changed his mind even if Elijah hadn't arrived so a serious Klaus I'd say is more skilled.

It's easy to see their strenth difference really. Klaus is obviously stronger generally. He's half wolf, were wolves are known for their increasing temper nd strength. Couple that with he's strength as an original, then you can see that Klaus has the ability to get significantly stronger the angrier he is...hence why he made that statement. Elijah can really only match Klaus when he's less angry.

Okay first no Claus isn't stronger than Elijah they are equal powered, the only advantages of Claus being part wolf is the dagger doesn't effect him for starters and his bite will eventually weakened Elijah, ntm ultimately Claus can't die helps a lot. Being a wolf doesn't make him physically stronger at all actually it doesn't work that way. Their age is what makes them stronger if anything Elijah is actually stronger than Claus but not by much, Elijah can't win the fight because he can't kill Klaus, whereas Klaus can ultimately kill him, if not at least extremely weakened him with his bite.

Elijah is more skilled fighter with precise technique while Klaus strongly relates on his brute strength. A Hybrid is physically stronger and faster then a Vampire with more animalistic nature which is his most valuable advantage. The best display of this was when Klaus fought against Marcel’s gang in season one. At first, he fought only as a vampire, using his speed and strength, but as soon as he begun using his both sides the fight was over. (And he still didn’t fully transform)

We know for a fact that Klaus is more skilled than Elijah as a combatant and was always superior since they became vampires and Klaus wasn't a hybrid for most of his life. If you don't believe me well other than the fact that it's known that Klaus is more skilled you can read the originals the ressurection to see that even a drunk, calm and surprised non hybrid Klaus can still easily gain the upper hand and beat an enraged Elijah.

People constantly argue that Klaus and Elijah are equal or that Elijah would be stronger if they were both hybrids. Remember that Klaus has always been more feral and his temper is almost unparalleled. Elijah has always been the more controlled and noble one. He doesn't submit to his emotions like Klaus does. If he allowed himself to completely lose control like his brother than he'd definitely have the upper hand but I feel like he always holds back when it comes to Klaus because of his dedication to family

If and ifs . Klaus was stronger as a human that's why he beats Elijah. He also doesn't have the same weaknesses like daggers , werewolf bites and he isn't a hybrid . Did y'all ever wonder why mikael is stronger than his kids because he was stronger as a human and kept getting stronger with training as a vampire . Klaus always seems to best Elijah in every fight he is stronger that's a fact . It's like mikael vs klaus . Mentality plays a role too

I thought it should have been Rebekah trying to get Niklaus's redemption then again Rebekah and Klaus are too much alike personality wise while Elijah is more of the stable one and Finn is too close to the Mother

If anybody has any doubts as to whether Klaus is stronger than Elijah, just realize Klaus rarely goes all out against him. If you don’t believe me, look at the fight between them when Freya was luring Dahlia between the pictures to make her mortal. Klaus dominated that fight. If you don’t think so, then Elijah willingly let Gia die. Because Klaus used his real strength and overcame Elijah without issue at that point then FORCED Elijah to watch as he let Gia burn. Klaus’ body language always shows he’s very relaxed in fights…and he has reason to be, not many can overcome him. His overconfidence is why he gets his ass whooped sometimes, not so much anybody being “stronger”.

Actually Klaus fed on more than 20 people before that fight. Who knows when last Elijah has had blood Dahlia specifically told klaus he has to prepare for the battle ahead, which is Elijah Watch the last fight Klaus went all out and even resort to biting Elijah but guess what happened he still tossed him around

I saw many comments here about Elijah being the stronger one, or that Elijah could take Klaus if he wanted to. Dudes, it doesn't matter how it is, Klaus has always been and will always be the stronger one. It doesn't matter if Elijah can keep up with him in the first minute of their fight, he'll get beaten afterwards. The history has shown that over and over again. Klaus is the strongest being on the planet. I don't count Marcel, the dude will lose his powers soon. The writers have never let anybody be stronger than Klaus for a longer time period.

Why did they have to cut out most of the potentially best fight in all of The originals.

Elijah is a smarter fighter and he can adapt and vs Klaus he can win. There mindsets matter if either one is off, then the other takes the victory. Klaus should have it 9 out 10 but Elijah has shown he can go fist to fist with Klaus.

Actually I'm not sure that that's true. Klaus is considered more powerful by legends and was always in charge of the family + Elijah gets his ass kicked by stronger opponents where as Klaus is only very slightly stronger by their standards yet always puts up a tough fight whoever he fights and was even able to best upgraded original Marcel in a fight which Klaus probably would have won where as Elijah couldn't. I think it's more about how arrogant or serious Klaus is in a fight as he seems to rely on his invincibility and strength too much in fights or just enjoys them too much to be serious. But when he is serious he kicks Elijah and Marcel's ass and keeps up with Mikeal as well as somewhat put up a fight against Lucian though ultimately gets outmatched because Lucian was nearly twice as strong and fast as an upgraded original.

Elijah is not faster, a hybrid is faster than a vampire. A werwolf has superspeed and vampirism amplifies what you are. So a hybrid has vampire speed+Werwolf speed. And yes some of you say :„I saw that Elijah was faster and..." But I didn't saw any moment where he was faster (and I searched for it). But you can Google that a hybrid is faster and stronger than a vampire. And just by the way Elijah is not older than the others.. Yes in human age but not in vampire age. In vampire age they are all the same age, cause they got turned at the same time/day. I am tired of discuss this.. So if you want to fight me, fine but maybe i will not answer. (sry for my english)

I'm a Klaus fan but you can never deny the strength of Elijah. When they are fighting each other, you cannot easily say who will win.

Imagine an episode with Klaus, Stefan, and Lily having ripper fun.

What I liked about Elijah is the even though he took on the oldest brother responsibility he stayed loyal to his siblings no matter what they put him through!
