the originals were too confident when fighting other vampires because they knew they were stronger and faster, basically the originals can survive bieng staked in the heart, it would take them some time to heal and they can survive werewolves bite, thats why they were so cocky, because they only have one real weakness that stake made of oak, but only the originals at that time knew, no other person at this time knew how to stop an original, thats why they were so cocky, while fighting other vampires

precisely the opposite in vampire diaries they make you fear the originals not in The originals and in vampire diaries Klaus kill everyone no mercy

The originals are stronger, faster and far better combat skills than any other vampire in the world well at least they should. When Stefan and daemon we’re running past him he should of been able to grab them mid vamp run and just full tear them apart. But apparently the writers didn’t know were they were going with the originals so that’s why he was so underpowered, because later in that season he compels Katharine and saves daemon from a pack of wolves without breaking a sweat

For people saying how can The Salvatores defeat a Mikaelson 1) He wasn't even fighting. 2) This was on purpose. The scene where we find out that he isn't dead, it was scary to see him open his eyes after being staked. It was to inform us that you can't just kill An Original with an ordinary stake.

the salvatore brothers will always be iconic but Elijah and Klaus are quite literally unstoppable fighting together, usually when a vampire gets attacked by a witch they give up and dont even try to fight back but Klaus And Elijah always managed to break the witches control

Good old Elijah such a good guy in his own world! He just keeps hiding behind that little red door (that’s a reference from originals)

I think it was just for the plot, the brothers were to defeat him quite easily but have him come back right after as a surprise effect that a vampire survived being staked.

They made the Originals and all the Hybrids seem so weak when fighting the protagonists Both of the shows are guilty of giving too much plot armor to the main characters if not all three shows now with Legacies

So nobody's gonna talk about how Elena hugged Stefan and said "thank you" To Damon?

Only after watching the original I can see that the two shows definitely improved as time went on.

Elijah was a surprise when I first saw him on The Vampire Diaries but as soon as I got to see his background in flashbacks from centuries ago and more planning payback for his family, he grew to become my new favorite character since he was honest and loyal but also smart and brave, even when he fights others without hesitation. He truly is a man of honor. 😍 I like him A Lot! 😘

He was not shown weak... Damon and Stephen used strategy to incapacitate him... The same way someone would snap another vampires neck. To say he was weak is to say they killed him which they did not... Klaus easily incapacitates his family members like its nothing and Elijah hasnt fought at that moment seriously in a very long time... When you have to fight seriously is when you see someones full strength... Goku has been hurt by bullets meanwhile he could tank a universe destroying level attack. And also right before this part didnt he whip his hand and took off that guys head... No normal vampire can do that the strength and precision needed is a lot more then a fledgling can dish out... And he was another vampire!!!!

The contrary actually they made Elijah a lot weaker in to where as he was a lot more powerful and menacing in tvd. You do realize in to Elijah and Klaus lost to Davina a naive 16 year old brat who lacked intelect, skil and even controlled not to mention didn't even hold a fraction of the power charecters like Emily Bennet who couldn't beat Katherine possessed.

From what I have seen in the originals I really doubt that any of them really tried to to hunt them both. They were running away from Mikael and when they were at a place they would try to take control over it and fight for it. Maybe they had some Vampires manipulated to chase these two. That could be possible but i doubt it.

They are the main hero of the series thats why they can kill anyone

You said that the only reason they beat him was because of plot armor which i disagree with. The reason they beat him goes into several strong factors: His arrogance and uncareful attitude in this fight, they were being tactical and using hit and run tactics, they were armed with advanced vampire hunting weapons, Elijah was unaware how many enemies there were and they were mostly just taunting him, it was a closed space which only helped them, they had Elena's help who Elijah didn't hurt for very known reasons, they used effective sneak attacks and diversions and overall it's very hard to react to a 100+ year old vampires speed if your not completely focused even for an original and Damon vamp speed stabbed him while he was distracted by Stefan. I'm not sure how any of this could be plot armor as we've seen Elijah be knocked out countless times via sneak attacks in the originals such as by the guerrera warewolf's who despite their strength are actually a lot slower than the Salvatores in movement speed where as the army Elijah fought were all much younger and bullrushing him not tactically, not well armed, non skilled fighters and Elijah was expecting that exact kind of fight + it was an open space in his own home.
