Thank you SO much. I'm new to crochet and wanted to start with something easy, your tutorial is the only one I've found that makes sense. Thanks. :)

Very true. Even I'm learning and this is simple AND easy to follow.
This is exactly what I was looking for and you explained it so well. It's my first ever granny square and it came out amazingly
I love this blanket but I am more of a knitter then a crocheter. Thank you so much for doing this video as I was having a hard time with the written patter (from my ignorance not the pattern writing) I have finished my first square! Only one million more to go! Thank you so much for your generosity!
I have crocheted many, many blankets ( 3 WIPs on the go) but l have never done a solid granny square. Your clear demonstration has shown me how easy the process is and I'm go to begin as soon as one of present projects is finished.
Newbie here! I love the simplicity that you are teaching here. Thank you so very much Love ♥️ Can't wait to get started! Be safe and be well. 💙
This is the same corner technique as you use for all of the designs in the Nature’s Walk project, and it works brilliantly. From now on I’ll use this technique every time.
Well,.... I will be making this blanket. Thank you for your time in presenting this tutorial ❤
just by watching, it's such an easy tutorial unlike a few I've already seen 😭 thank you sm for this!!
Yes!!! I've been trying like crazy to make this square, thank you for explaining this so wonderfully 💗
I love collecting all the different ways crocheters make grannies. I like the symmetry of this style.
Absolutely the best tutorial. I’ve also learnt a terrific way to do my corners. Thank you so much.
This is a great tutorial it is easy to follow and doesn’t talk about extra stuff and it is pretty straight forward love this
What an absolutely beautiful blanket!
Sucha great tutorial! Thank you! I love your tip for keeping that 4th hole looking the same as the rest.
Thank you Sandra, I have nearly all my colours together..will definitely be using this
Very nicely explained, will surely try and make this blanket for my grandchildren, thanks .👌💕🙏🏻
Yes, me too, watching from Belfast NI:). I can turn out a quick Granny square faster than the flick of a switch…. I used to do all the ‘starting of Grannies for all my friends and family🤪. BUT…. a solid Granny, all fingers and no thumb!! I’m definitely going to start some of these TOMORROW, April 2nd 2022…… 3 yrs to the day having my stroke . A hateful, life changing event BUT 🙏🏻 I count my Blessings EVERY DAY. Now, I shall have a nice day tomorrow thanks to your wee tutorial 😊. Lovely.
The clearest solid granny tutorial I've seen, thank you so much!

Oh that’s so kind, thank you! ❤️
Thank you for this great video. It was very easy to see every stitch you make. I am getting ready to start making this blanket with all my left over yarn.
Thank you! I had been confused about where the 3 tr went in round two when I read the pattern. This made it clear. Also you may know the lovely Elizabeth Ann can stitch has just started the blanket on the KZread channel so I’m sure there will be many people about to join her!
A great pattern. My first fully crochet pattern as I’m a knitter. Thank you!
Está hermoso este color. Felicidades.!!!
I love the way you start your Granny Square & start every row! I’ve not seen this method before & tbh I think it’s great & looks neat & tidy! A great tutorial video, very clear instructions!Thank you for sharing!
You explain so clearly and slowly enough to follow but not too painfully slowly also! I am an American and while I did originally learn how to crochet in American terms...for some reason now that I've done a few larger projects I actually prefer the UK terms 🤔 I have no idea why and maybe that's crazy haha but the UK terms for some reason make more sense to my thought process! I thank you however for having typed the US terms in the corners anyways as it adds even more clarity to those of us who have trouble sticking to a particular term in our heads.
You are a fantastic instructor! So happy to have stumbled upon this tutorial. Thank you so much. ☺️

Watching from Ohio, USA. Thanks for sharing Sandra. Very helpful. I like how you slip stitch into the chain, makes for a well blended join! 🧶

Hi, Sandra Really appreciated your Tutorial which helped me understand the written pattern. Thank you! Thank you!
Lovely pattern. Thank you for sharing 😊.
Thank you so much for this video!! I have 12 skeins of yarn that has been waiting to become a blanket for my now 2 year old. A couple friends/family were unable to make it for me for various reasons and I learned to crochet when I was in middle school but I never really made it passed turning skeins of yarn into chains that I rolled into balls. I have recently picked crochet back up because I remember enjoying it. I started with finger crochet and really really thick chunky yarn, now that bag of yarn had been staring me down saying I can do this. I can make that blanket for my baby. Granny squares seemed achievable to me especially since I'm wanting to switch it up from big chunky stripe patterns and I have 4 different colors of yarn I want to incorporate. Again, I say thank you for your simple break down. I battled for a solid 45 minutes trying to do the magic ring/circle to start the granny square so thank you. With a lot of pausing and backing up till I get my hands and crochet needle on the same page, I think I got this.

I love your blanket! It is lovely. Your video tutorial is very clear and helpful. If I wanted to make this in 4 rounds, can you provide the instructions for the 4th round?
Somewhat late to the party, but I was watching an Emma Jones video (vintage sewing box) and she was talking about one of your patterns. So very glad I found you. Will be able to learn crochet at long last. Have subscribed. Best wishes from Lottie in Suffolk.

Thank goodness for US terminology 😊 when I listen to UK terminology it makes no sense to me 😂 and I’m British 😂
phew as a knitter being used to my two needles this is hard to get used to lol I have had to rewatch the first minute only a billion times its a little difficult but i think ill get there
I really like your tutorial - it is visually easy to see what you are doing. My question (and maybe this has been answered somewhere already ) is if there is a “translation” of the stitches into the American jargon - or a resource that compares them. What you are calling a treble looks to me like what I think of as a Double crochet? Anyway. - thanks and hope to try this soon. I love the small square sizes - very quilt-like appearance.
Not a fan of the granny square, But I enjoyed making this Battenberg Blanket !! Will
I think I missed a stitch but I can’t tell where but turned out great the second try thank u!

I'm thinking of using this pattern for a baby blanket. How many squares do you think I should make for a baby blanket? Thank you!
Thank you for this tutorial! Your blanket is just gorgeous! I was hoping to see how you joined the squares in your blanket and wondering if there is any tutorial for that. I'm assuming you're joining the offwhite squares as you're going across the 3rd row, correct? Thank you, in advance.

Is it okay to just chunky yarn for this pattern?
Hi, thank you for this great tutorial! I’m wondering why you call a double crochet a treble? Is it a European thing? Thanks again!
I made a Starburst granny square it took me a day to do this only my first week of crocheting im only a kid

Well done, that’s brilliant!! Yes it does seem hard at first. I remember that so well! It takes a little while for your fingers to get used to moving the way you want them to. It won’t be too long before you are whizzing along though. ❤️

@@CherryHeart Thank you for replying! 😊😊
I have made my squares this way. And I noticed the ch 5 did make the space bigger. Thank you ,I will ch4 from now on. I love your blankets so much, thay all look so even and perfect. I want to make the blanket like you . I LIVE IN AMERICA. THAY SEAME TO USE# 4 Weight yarn more . Or mabe it is al I see ,because I don't get out much. I have to rely on my son to go to the craft store and get my yarn. He won't take me because I am in a wheelchair most of the time. I don't have a lot of computer knowledge. He won't order yarn on internet. So I don't know what yarn to use

Thanks so much, so glad you found it useful! Yes I noticed that the worsted weight seems to be the go to weight in the US, whereas here DK is most common. The good thing with this pattern is you can use any weight of yarn, it’s more important to just stick to one weight for the whole blanket to get the consistent look! ❤️
Hi Sandra love your videos can you please tell me what size hook you used to make the granny squares please & thank you 😁
@CherryHeart
2 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! You just want to use the recommended hook for your yarn really, unless you crochet tight or lose and want to adjust for that. I think I used an Aran weight yarn for this so I probably went for a 5mm hook. ☺️

Can I make ladies jacket to join these pieces of squares please tell me

Hi, I was just wondering if there was a reason you start with chains instead of a magic circle, and if I used a magic circle instead would it cause issues? Thanks for this pattern!
@CherryHeart

You could use magic circle to start if you prefer. ❤️
Is this granny square seamless?
