I love this blanket but I am more of a knitter then a crocheter. Thank you so much for doing this video as I was having a hard time with the written patter (from my ignorance not the pattern writing) I have finished my first square! Only one million more to go! Thank you so much for your generosity!

I have crocheted many, many blankets ( 3 WIPs on the go) but l have never done a solid granny square. Your clear demonstration has shown me how easy the process is and I'm go to begin as soon as one of present projects is finished.

This is the same corner technique as you use for all of the designs in the Nature’s Walk project, and it works brilliantly. From now on I’ll use this technique every time.

Yes, me too, watching from Belfast NI:). I can turn out a quick Granny square faster than the flick of a switch…. I used to do all the ‘starting of Grannies for all my friends and family🤪. BUT…. a solid Granny, all fingers and no thumb!! I’m definitely going to start some of these TOMORROW, April 2nd 2022…… 3 yrs to the day having my stroke . A hateful, life changing event BUT 🙏🏻 I count my Blessings EVERY DAY. Now, I shall have a nice day tomorrow thanks to your wee tutorial 😊. Lovely.

You explain so clearly and slowly enough to follow but not too painfully slowly also! I am an American and while I did originally learn how to crochet in American terms...for some reason now that I've done a few larger projects I actually prefer the UK terms 🤔 I have no idea why and maybe that's crazy haha but the UK terms for some reason make more sense to my thought process! I thank you however for having typed the US terms in the corners anyways as it adds even more clarity to those of us who have trouble sticking to a particular term in our heads.

Thank you so much for this video!! I have 12 skeins of yarn that has been waiting to become a blanket for my now 2 year old. A couple friends/family were unable to make it for me for various reasons and I learned to crochet when I was in middle school but I never really made it passed turning skeins of yarn into chains that I rolled into balls. I have recently picked crochet back up because I remember enjoying it. I started with finger crochet and really really thick chunky yarn, now that bag of yarn had been staring me down saying I can do this. I can make that blanket for my baby. Granny squares seemed achievable to me especially since I'm wanting to switch it up from big chunky stripe patterns and I have 4 different colors of yarn I want to incorporate. Again, I say thank you for your simple break down. I battled for a solid 45 minutes trying to do the magic ring/circle to start the granny square so thank you. With a lot of pausing and backing up till I get my hands and crochet needle on the same page, I think I got this.

I really like your tutorial - it is visually easy to see what you are doing. My question (and maybe this has been answered somewhere already ) is if there is a “translation” of the stitches into the American jargon - or a resource that compares them. What you are calling a treble looks to me like what I think of as a Double crochet? Anyway. - thanks and hope to try this soon. I love the small square sizes - very quilt-like appearance.

I have to rely on my son to go to the craft store and get my yarn. He won't take me because I am in a wheelchair most of the time. I don't have a lot of computer knowledge. He won't order yarn on internet. So I don't know what yarn to use

Thanks so much, so glad you found it useful! Yes I noticed that the worsted weight seems to be the go to weight in the US, whereas here DK is most common. The good thing with this pattern is you can use any weight of yarn, it’s more important to just stick to one weight for the whole blanket to get the consistent look! ❤️
