Its 2024 and Im still watching and learning from Melanie's website. Thank you for still having it on. Since I was always on her website as the beginner, learning and enjoying her teaching, I learned about her cancer battle. She left us way too young! I believe she is in better place where there is no pain. My deepest condolences.

Here it is 2023, and I'm still watching Melanie's crochet videos when I need a little help with my crochet projects. She was such an excellent teacher, her passion for her crafts really showed, her joy for life, and her love for humanity was very obvious. She will always be missed. Thank you for keeping this channel open. In spirit Melanie is still helping us. 💓
Here’s the written pattern guysss ☁️✨ R1 starting with yellow, (for the middle part) sc 8 into the mc R2 pull your magic circle tight and join with a sl st. Cut your yarn and fasten off. Change to white (for the petals) ch 3 ( counting the Ch to you used to secure it ) y/o insert in the same stitch y/o pull through 2 repeat till you have 5 loops on your hook y/o pull through all ch 2 and repeat the petal process till you have 8 petals ch 2 sl st to end the round R3 cut the yarn and switch to pink where the ch 2 spaces were ( for the background of the flower 🌸) ch 5 ( not counting the ch u used to secure the yarn ) do 3 dc in the same st 3 dc in the next ch 2 space. Do 3 dc in the next ch 2 space again. Now for the corner, ch 2 then do 3 dc in that SAME ch stitch. Repeat this till you reach the end. In the last ch 2 space where the first petal was. Count the 3 chains, and SL st into the third. She explains better than me so here is the time stamp

thx so much often times i dont have the patience to watch crochet videos fully, and i would rather just look at the instructions.
I had to improvise with the colours as I didn't have the right ones, so it didn't really look like a daisy - but it definitely turned out great! This was my first ever granny square, thank you so much for the tutorial! I am very sorry to hear that Melanie passed, such a lovely person.
Just read the sad news...so sorry to hear about this news...and has motivated me to finally learn a new pattern. I'm glad she gave of her life experiences to share to the world! ✨💖✨
This was my first Melanie video. I subscribed immediately. I didn't understand today that every random you tube video I watched continued with the Melanie lifeline video. So after finishing my crochet worked I actually watched the compilation. I could not believe she passed away. I cried for so long. She was a real warrior. She never gave up. She never complained. She fought for her marriage. Unbelievable that such an amazing woman got so sick. My blessings to the whole family. I will continue to watch all her videos. Thank you for everything you thaught us Melanie. Rest in peace! God bless you 🤍🕊🕯
I just made like 8 of these to make a bag before reading any of the comments. Her videos are so great. She taught me something really cool 6 months after she passed - that’s crazy.

I love watching this young woman with such a gift for communicating to people and making us all feel like we were her next-door-neighbor ❤ I have been crocheting 50 years and have learned more in the last 13 years on KZread than the previous 43! Yarn content creators do us such a fantastic service...I remember the old days when finding a new pattern meant a trip to the library, the craft or fabric store, or a hand-written pattern from friends or family. RIP Ms. Melanie Ham from one of many fans who miss you very much. I wish I personally knew the family so I could give her children a hug and help her husband in some way. What a special lady she was! 😊😊😽😽❤❤
Very heartsore. During a dark lockdown I learned everything about crocheting from Melanie. What a sunny and happy disposition - so passionate about projects and trying new things. She encouraged me to try even if I get it wrong, and to put passion into each project. I will watch and learn everything she has posted - perhaps also delve into quilting sometime!

SO BEAUTIFUL, I LOVE DAISIES. THANK YOU FOR SHARING💖🙂💗🌈
❤thank you to her wonderful loved ones that are honoring her legacy by letting this channel remain accessible to us all so we can learn from the amazingly talented, gifted and creative teaching style that this beautiful woman had shared with everyone here and those who will someday be here to also learn from her and continue to make such lovely creations all because of her hard work, compassion and dedication to her art. She has a special place in my heart and even moreso now that I see she's now an Angel above and the things I've learned along my own personal journey were made while she herself was dealing with such a difficult one herself and yet her light, positivity and radiance was so abundant that you would never even realize it, and to see how she didn't make it a point of reference for any reason at first made me a bit sad, but as it sank in... it made me more amazed at how much she had been such a great inspiration to not just us, but to her own family friends and the ones who knew her outside this arena. It's so easy to take extended breaks, etc and then have an absolutely valid explanation of your health being the reason for this and honestly you'd be given so much support from this community no doubt... yet, she didn't want to make this about anything other than the beautiful work she obviously enjoyed sharing and we're so very grateful to you Melanie for all these precious hours you gifted to us all over the course of your courageous battle and we will aways remember to put a little bit of your zest for life into our own designs that your imagination inspired us to create for so many gifts, projects and heirlooms that will be here even when we're high in the heavens above ourselves! So many thank yous, smiles and hugs to you, yours and to all the wonderful people here who share this common thread!

I learned to crochet from her too. Sadly, I didn't know until today she was gone. I'm working on my 2nd afghan now. I watched the memorial video Robert put together and sobbed most of the hour and half watching it. It's such a loss for her family, friends, students and the world! What a beautiful soul!
That’s so pretty. I love your color choice.
Thanks Melanie hope u r doing well! Very pretty project. My favorite flowers are daises and tulips. So sorry to hear of her passing almost 2 yrs ago! 🥲
I didn't have enough of my yellow yarn to do the center of the flower, so instead I changed up the colors a bit - white, soft purple (basically a lilac) for the flower and then a medium grey, with an additional white around. It still looks very nice, although maybe next time I'll try using a shade of green around the flower instead of the grey, to make it look like leaves or something. Either way, I love this design so thank you for sharing it with us! I'll be making a bunch of these to turn into a project of some sort. Currently not sure what, but perhaps a bag or a baby blanket for my niece.
Idk if I should make a bag or a sweater! This granny square is sooo cute! :)
