There's an important detail being left out: Chromebook users can ONLY Cloud Record on paid accounts: (ie: Pro Account) . Just figured that out from Zoom help.

It says it right there on the Zoom Recordings/My Recordings page, "How is Cloud recording enabled? Cloud recording is available to paid subscribers. Go to your Cloud Recording Add-On Plan, or contact your sales representative."

@prettygah12 It's 15 dollars a month. I have an HP windows computer and an HP Chromebox. I paid the subscription for one month, and I can tell you the quality of the zoom recordings on my windows computer is better than the cloud recordings on the chromebox. I'm a teacher by the way.

OH MY GOODNESS! I was about to pull out my hair, I was SO frustrated. I'd watched tutorial after tutorial on Zoom AND KZread and tried Alt+R, looked for the button, AND Still nothing. How do you do a zoom presentation with google slides and show yourself in the corner talking on the chromebook? I get to the part about share screen, put I do not see the slides by themselves in the share box like when you are on the laptop.but when the google slides come up the screen I cannot see myself talking in the window? Plus I need the slides in presentation mode. Can you do an example of this please.

Yes, they now require a subscription.

@@n3rdch1c actually I'm not sure if I do. I mean I have a Zoom account set up through my university but the admin has locked the cloud recordings on there. I've talked to tech support about it so I'm hoping things will be resolved soon. Thank you for responding and I did find this video to be really helpful! 😊

If you are the host, you should be able to. I think older versions of software don’t have the button, so the workaround is to do it in the settings. This tutorial should help with that: kzread.info/dash/bejne/g5Wuwcd7ftzQnbw.html

Simply set inside your account for your meeting “start recording automatically.” And it should be recording when it begins. This requires doing the settings in the account and then if you do an event, set it up there too. I will add a tutorial on setting up “scheduled meetings” from Chromebook here too

I already did that. I think you have to pay to get the options to retrieve the recordings. I just set up a free account since I have to teach my students online now.
