    Thanks for the clear tutorial. Just the right amount of details of what you're clicking and why. Nice job! I hope your channel continues to grow. :D

    I hope that too because youtube made it harder than ever. I get barely any views, I like doing those tutorials but until some crazy amounts of viewers you can't even monetize the videos so literally I'm not getting even a dime for the time and work put into the channel...well I treat this as an investment for the future haha :D Thanks for the comment

    Thanks for the great explanation of how to use the beam effect to link points. I can't wait to track something and have one end of the beam follow what I tracked.

    This is a great tutorial, presented in a very straight forward fashion! For some reason I continue to have issues though. When I drag the pick whip down to the shape position the beam end sails off screen to the upper left corner of the screen. The shape in question is tethered to a null that is the target of a motion track on a video layer. Any thoughts on what I could be doing wrong? Many thanks!

    great! but I'm having a problem: when I try to precompose the motion with beam it collapses all the time, what's wrong?!

  • @aftereffectschannel1264

    @aftereffectschannel1264

    5 жыл бұрын

    Hey Katalin this is because when it's precomposed the EXPRESSIONS do not exactly know where the elements from the animation went, so that is the problem. You should precompose any layers that are connected with expressions as well with that, then it wouldn't collapse!

    Hello. the starting and ending points of the beam effect do not have the pick whip option. This seems abnormal, right? How can i activate it? Thanks

    press F4 or right click on the Source Name / Modes or anywhere on top of your layers --> Columns >--> and enable the Parent & link column options so they are visible.

    can you do it with dashed line?

  • @aftereffectschannel1264

    @aftereffectschannel1264

    5 жыл бұрын

    Yes of course! Any line we create is a layer on its own (unless we put all on one layer in a group, lol). Inside that layer you can open up the stroke options and clck the "+" sign to add dashes!

    @@melankaya Hi Melanie, a few months later after you, I too was looking for the home button. It's in fact, Alt & Command & up/left symbol (the arrow which is between the 'function key' and the 'up arrow with 2 lines crossed through' on an extended UK keyboard). The Item menu is Layer > Transform > Center Anchor Point in Layer Content.
