Even though the Rakatan were monsters, the side quest of KOTOR in which we meet a Rakata in a mind prison was sad af, considering that Revan became the closest thing to a friend that imprisoned Rakata had in thousands and thousands of years. In fact, the part in which Revan, when he is about to be released, asks the Rakata to at least tell him his name and the creature responds that he doesn't even remember it anymore broke my heart 😢

This was my first exposure to the species at all, in any way. I was surprised when they turned out to be evil, my impression was that he was quite bright, and honorable as well. To be frank, if you take away our ability to break reality and play out different paths, from his characters in game perspective there's really no way for him to know if you would have been willing to give up your own freedom upon defeat. For him to be willing to give up what might have been his last chance at being free for who knows how long once you win fair and square, well not just anybody would do that. Lord knows the average human would have been as willing to give up such a thing based on honor alone. I consider what I would do in a situation like that, and really I have no idea if I would have been able to accept defeat under those implications with as much grace and dignity as him. To say he's a bad guy in any way is interesting, we don't know much about him, but from what we do know it seems to be the opposite.

I like the idea that Jawas are the evolution of rats in the star wars galaxy... Like imagine after millennia of observing us from the gutters and walls, rats begin to evolve developing their own languages and religions, walking upright and slowly getting taller through generations to more easily interact with their environment and other species (sentient rat asks to trade a coin for a couple chips, bet most would do it just for the memes), they begin using tools and scavenge and trade knowledge and resources to the point they develop space travel... They would probably act in an almost identical lifestyle that the Jawas portray in the films...
