Honestly, I kinda wish Boba didn't just waltz up and shoot him in the chest, they could have set him up as a more sly, sort of machiavellian villain who lacking the Hutt backing of Jabba or the pure skills and strength of someone like Boba, relies on guile and treachery to get his way. I think he could have made a good main villain for the show itself, giving Boba a real obstacle to push through before he can become Daimyo.

His Legends story gave him probably the happiest ending of any Star Wars villain. And his Canon story gave him probably the most anticlimactic death.

Pretty much every character you see in the original series actually has a backstory in canon. There's an old Star Wars encyclopedia you can get. It shows you just how fleshed out the Star Wars world used too be.

I always liked Bib, the way he moved his hands when talking while wearing those stylish clothing. Being the brain that archieved Jabbas goals. I was actually kinda sad when Boba just shot him.

This was incredible! Ever since I was little I only thought of him as a little snitch who would do anything to get himself closer to Jabba's throne, and seeing him at the end of Mando 2, my thoughts were only strengthened. But after seeing this, he has been shown to be more than a 1 dimensional character and I love it!

I feel like Bib's good intentions are just justifications for his terrible acts.

Thanks for taking the time to do this deep dive. I had no idea about so much of this backstory. This gives so much more weight and credence to this seemingly minor side character. I enjoyed the video. The whole Bomar Monk side story is outstanding and bizarre.

Based on the story it was ironic in Canaan that his life as a number two is to look out for number one. But when you’re number one you’re too busy enjoying the spoils of being number 1. So for someone whose MO was sniffing out threats it’s only fitting that the moment he became number one he didn’t see Boba coming.

It's not their poop, it's spider silk, webbing. In one of the novels, Han and Chewbacca meet a young man named Kyp Durron, all having been taken prisoner by a Rybet named Moruth Doole, who was presiding over the prison colony on Kessel, and the three men (two men, one male Wookiiee) are forced, along with a contingent of prisoners, to scrape glitterstim off the cave walls underground. It is later learned, the spider eats a species of bioluminescent flying creature, and tracks it by lacing the walls with its own spider silk, that flickers and crackles when exposed to light. When the bioluminescence of the creature triggers the silk, the spider is alerted, and eats its prey. The spider is unaware that consumption of its crackling, flickering silk, by other humanoid species, has euphoric, even mildly clairvoyant side-effects. When glitterstim is harvested, it is wrapped in opaque cloth, and the cloth is housed in an equally light-proof container, usually a hinged box.

Great video. I like how it included the B'Omarr Monk stuff, originated from "Tales from Jabba's Palace" often considered a more professional fanfiction. The short story is called " 'Of the Day's Annoyances' - the story of Bib Fortuna".

A character that in alot of franchises would have been a throw away single facetted character

I agree with you I didn't know there was so much backstory on Bid Fortuna, I know he survived Jabba's death on the barge and took over Jabba's Palace but that was about it.
