    Nova Lustre is $116 for 16 ounces. Nova Jet is $80 for 16 ounces. Turtle Wax Ice Seal N Shine is $6.97 for 16 ounces. That is a huge difference in price. Nova Lustre and Nova Jet are enormously expensive - particularly if you wash your car weekly - at 16 and 11 times the cost of Turtle Wax Ice Seal N Shine.

    I am big fan of this product. I have used it between hand applied carnuba applications on my flat red paint. The gloss and water beading are ridiculous. I drove through a two hour rain storm - the next morning fully expecting a mess - the car was clean...like clean enough to not really warrent an immediate wash. To my point...you mention that upon initial application the product is slightly viscous and may lightly streak. I believe I've found a fairly easy cure - a very fine mist of distilled h2o with an immediate wipe-down with a finish buff cloth eliminates any streaking and brings on some superior bling. For $10 it is the real deal.

    Seal and Shine is a great product for the weekend warrior, BUT: You have to know what you are doing. Under no circumstances the paint can be warm or even hot. It’s a headache to wipe it off then. It supports waterspots even after 1 week on the paint. The gloss is very nice indeed, but to put it on your car basically the same rules apply then putting on a ceramic coating. Thanks for testing. Thumbs up!

    Awesome and well done video! Outside of where the TW SNS is dirt cheap it's in the middle or little above in some cases. But where it's cheap and you are after most bang for the buck it's a winner in that range. I got it for $20 here in Sweden and it's in the middle here too with the price point. I did want to test it out but did it in no good weather as it's started to basicly rain after the application. So very humid and it was as I expected from others experience with it hard to remove. Based on your testing I will definitely apply a second layer of it in better conditions so I can see it perform at it's best. Have it against the new version of Gyeon Wet Coat on the side panels and the SNS on the roof and the hood. The new version of Gyeon Wet Coat really feeled more stout than before. And got me a water behavior from 1 application where I used 2 sprays per wet panel and spread it out with a mf applicator sponge and PW rinsed off thoroughly. Less than 1dl was used on a Ford Focus hatchback. It useally needed 2-3 application before I saw that water behavior from it on this car. Maybe a match up with some new and old spray on rinse off products. And your thoughts about them. I find them so easy to apply and the reapplication is not so much extra to be doing every 1-3 months. Like the Sonax Spray & Seal with the looks from it and good as such a product. I have seen some crazy longevity from it on the glass for some reason. Not where the wipers are but side windows a 6 months old Sonax Spray and Seal on it with no other products that left any protection behind it was like I just had applyied. Also when I applyied Wet Coat over it it was not so much different water behavior from it. And I have seen many times now so something makes it very durable on the glass as it's the last to fail if it's even gets to fail as the rest of the car would be unprotected at that point. Sorry for the lenghty post. Thanks for shareing your work Sandro! You are top notch!

    This was a very good descriptive review but more a comparison test video as well. Thanks. I should point out that the one available in the US and Canada is turtle wax ICE sealant and this is seal and shine which I’m not sure same or different. The results for the ICE sealant and economical price and chemical resistant and beading and sheeting were all excellent in most other videos. I think here in Australia, we will have to wait for turtle wax to release the ICE brand to see how that holds the tests.

  • @tonymattisson6158

    @tonymattisson6158

    5 жыл бұрын

    Turtle Wax ICE I think is only in the US and maybe Canada. Here in Europe it's only Seal N Shine and as showed in Australia too. So this is the new TW ICE Seal N Shine but another name abroad. You see it on the mark they have on their claimed patent hydrophobic mix of protection. And that it's just have come out a short time ago. It may be a slight difference if any of the chemicals is not legal to use in a country. But generally the product don't get released at all where it's so.

  • @Ozzcaddy
    @Ozzcaddy5 жыл бұрын

    Thanks Sandro for taking the time to test Turtle Wax Seal N Shine, that many had asked for including myself. The main difference between your testing and the other video testing on Seal N Shine, was that you used 4 different Brand Products against Seal N Shine over different types of testing, where the other videos used all those Products for all the testing. But as you highlighted, its the price for what you get with Seal N Shine, that will appeal to those who cannot afford the more expensive products.

  • @stewstube70
    @stewstube704 жыл бұрын

    Good video and pretty much follows my experience - though I haven't used many other sealants before except bead maker. I have a dark grey car and the TW always streaks when applying to the bonnet, which can be removed with a damp towel. One thing I've found is the slickness seems to vary each time I use it, as does how easy it is to remove, despite me shaking the bottle well to ensure it is well mixed. The second time I used it (a week after using bead maker as a drying aid) the slickness I got was crazy, but the application I did today was barely slick at all.Although most reviews show the chemical resistance to be very good I've found in real world use with a car always left outside it lasts about 8 weeks or so regardless of how many times I wash the car during that period. Also it doesn't last as well on the bonnet or the painted plastic bumpers and mirrors, which is strange as they're the same paint as the rest of the car. Overall I think it's decent enough and cheap but not quite the "miracle" product it's been made out to be.

    S&S states on the bottle that it can be used on every part of the exterior car: painted plastic, glass, rubber, and painted metal. It also says to give it 24 hours to cure and then put second coat on and give another 24 hours to cure. Holds up for ~6 months.

This idea would be for you to do a full detail on a car using only products and equipment that can be bought from local parts stores such as Autobarn, supercheap or repco. used this yesterday. totally agree with this review. it is overhyped and mediocre at best. for malaysian RM70 (the cheapest I could fine) I am not impressed as I've used the cheap Big+ nano slick ultra shine at half the price and not much difference performance wise (big+ cure faster, wet application, etc). nano slick is more forgiving, seal n shine streaking and haze is a nightmare at slight direct sunlight. the hydrophobic behavior is nothing to shout about. there are cheaper, entry level stuff can do this now (big+, permaglass). it is also more grippy when applied. i bought this thinking of moving up from the cheap to the mid level stuff. going the meguiar's route now, bye bye turtle wax. keep up the honest review and all the best!

    Your review is much closer to my experience on 2 vehicles. I had an awful time with streaking/smearing/hazing on dark blue paint. I had to introduce water to fix it on the hood especially. Like you, I found it affected durability as it was largely gone on the hood after 2 weeks. Water behaved like bare paint by then either due to it being gone or due to the dirt It attracted that stuck to it on every panel. Rinsing removed none of the dirt regardless of the panel (unlike SiO2 based products). I got rid of it and went to HCW for the 1st time and the results are night and day in every way.

    I've only been detailing since around 1975 so there is a good chance I can't figure out how to use a simple spray and wipe sealant. Either way I'm not emotionally invested in detailing products.

    Hey sir. Thanks for all your videos. I have messaged you before and I am reaching out to you with an issue that many might have been dealing with. I have a 2018 Kia Stinger GT-2. The car has been polished for approximately 30 hrs and I used Carpro Essence as a finishing polish... then the car was coated with UK 3.0 Well this is my issue that maybe you can help me with... I don’t drive the car much, and we have trees in our yard, and some of the leaves have fallen on my car while it’s been parked in the cement driveway. Well, some how or another with Rain and tree leaves, my car has become etched with tree leaf impressions all over the rear deck and roof area. I have tried Essence by hand, and to no avail. Do you have any suggestions or encouragement to get rid of this damage? I am scared to burn up The clear coat on a brand new car with hardly any miles on it. Car was originally paint corrected by me with hex logic orange pad, and chemical guys v-36, then finished with hex logic white polishing pad utilizing Essence polish Nothing else has been done to the car with the exception of the UK 3.0, which I thought would help prevent this! I wipe the car off daily and this etching has still occurred.

    I still have 2 bottles of this from over a year ago from testing, most of the products that are hyped up all disapoint me to be honest, they say with 2 layers it can last 6 months but honestly its about the same as coating in my experience lasts about half as long as the ratings. All these companies need to get real with the durability claims and make a standard testing process, with 5% dawn or something and go by washes not time.

    Things like wax,sealant,ceramic & graphene only can show its true durability when the car is correctly prep(wash-clay-compound/polish) only then the paint protection that you used can perform as it should + varying factor,park indoor or outdoor etc.

    @@CarCraftAutoDetailing you know I'll watch it, twice! I bought Seal n Shine since it was only $7 USD at Walmart, stripped the existing Megs UFF and applied it. It smells like... old mans cologne? Not sure, but it's different from the normal fruity smells of detailing products. Doesn't feel as slick as Bead Maker for sure, but when I wash it today or tomorrow I'll see how it's holding up. I did a dry application and 1-2 sprays per panel before buffing off with 1-2 towels.

    Hi mate, I know this is an old video but did u have any experience using the Turtle Wax ICE version of seal and shine? Seen some very good results of that version. ICE has SiO2 but this current Australian version doesn't mention it on the label and its just called Hybrid Seal N shine now. I'm wondering if that's why you weren't as surprised at its performance due to no longer containing SiO2. I'm wondering if the Australian marketing people wanted it changed so it didn't compete with their more expensive ceramic wax. Regards

    I know I tried a past TW ICE sealant that I didn’t think too much of but I honestly can’t remember which one it was and thinking back it was probably a couple of years before Seal n Shine. It does get confusing with the way TW names and labels their products! I wish they would just simplify the names and make them easier to identify what the heck you’re actually buying and using 🙂

    @@CarCraftAutoDetailing thanks for the reply. Didnt think youd see my comment with the video being that old. I saw a great vid online where the guy applied it alongside the TW ceramic spray and gave them all sorts of torture tests. The Ceramic didnt last as long as the ICE one (although he didnt give the ceramic one 24 hours to cure as he was showing what would happen if you didnt let it cure). I can see the ICE version for sale at an online store. Im tempted to buy the ICE and non ICE bottles and do one half of the car with one and the other half with the other and see how they hold up. I was all excited to go down to autobarn or supercheap etc and get a bottle. But once i jumped on their sites , they only sell the Hybrid Seal N Shine which doesnt seem to have the SiO2 in it.. Anyhow. Im rambling on. I have sub'd :) Cheers

    Love your presentations, but I wonder why you spray such copious amounts of product on such small panels with this this type of sealant; I would think about 1/6 that amount would be sufficient. I wonder if it somehow makes it easier to ensure the uniformity of such applications in general is even, to be sure the comparison is fair. Great work - cheers.
