Yup… my weird is showing. I’ve had this random hole in my wall for a while and was originally going to fill it in and try and hide it, but then I started seeing miniature houses all over TikTok and had the idea to do something similar in there!! So where to start?

    Making miniatures is pretty traditional in some cultures! Based on the book “the borrowers” and various mythologies, it’s often believed that little people live in the walls and take what they think is not needed! Hence why things go missing a lot, because little people have been taking them to make furniture and such 😊

    Yhea I might be tempted to go for that look and feel using normal household items to create the scene rather than the obviously specially created furniture and stuff but I guess that personal choice and what story you want to tell with the creation.

  • @phatcat3705

    Lol. Same. I personalize the colors of my DIY dollhouse kits, which takes longer than actually building them and can be expensive because I have to print out the posters for the floor/walls, and buy new fabrics. Just the thought of ripping one kit apart is sad to me, plus the kits are just too cute. I would've just bought a new DIY dollhouse kit for the parts and worked from there putting the pieces to the hole, but that's just me. 😁

  • @spencerduffy8157

    @spencerduffy8157

    Same. I was into the creation of this until she mangles a beautiful miniature only to just ‘use parts’ that are literally part of the process of the build. Basically just destroyed something beautiful to relocate it. --also led lights aren’t that expensive. To be so overwhelmed that you’ve got LED lights as you rip apart someone else’s creation-go to the dollar store

  • @JenniferKokoski

    @JenniferKokoski

    Me too. She could have bought a kit at hobby lobby or some other craft store and used those parts. It would have cost her the same. And she wouldn't have destroyed somebody else's work. I don't know why KZread recommended this video to me. But it does not recommend her channel

    One tiny little thing I would’ve changed is stairs going down to the living room. But with or without, it’s still an impeccable build! So cute!!!

    Kelsey, I love what you've done with the tiny space, I think it's amazing! However, you should know it was your dad's reaction that gave me the goosebumps! I loved watching this video and I hope to see you redecorating it more often 🤗

    Kelsey! I've been catching up on ALL your content over the last year and THIS time I just had to comment! You did SUCH a great job. I know producing this mouse-house from a technical aspect was out of your comfort zone but I LOVED it!!! I actually cried during the reveal with your sweet dad and mom. Thank you for doing this! You inspired me to make a mini house this winter (my mom will be SO pleased that I'm finally making use of the dollhouse furniture she's been storing for me since my childhood haha!)

    Absolutely adorable! I love this! I’m looking around my room as I watch this and trying to decide if I have a tiny space for a room too. I use upholstery material for rugs and to cover furniture with. It’s heavy enough that it lays nice. I also love using scrap wallpaper. And you can paint it too. I did a three story dollhouse and had to completely cover both inside and out! I had to get a bit creative when it came to hiding plastic. I used a variety of natural materials as well.
