Wow , that was fantastic ! Great Job , Big B . Thing is with good brand rudders one should have to do machining to create another water intake hole . They should provide it !

Boat looks great! I noticed some more sponsors stickers and the perfect sticker for your boat would be the ironclad logo right in the middle of the nose. Bet it will get you 5mph more 😅

Or you could just open up that hole some more instead of drilling and running more lines? Smooth runner, and that orange looks good! 🚤💨👍

You can never get enough cooling in an rc boat. That Vortex is AWSOME. It would be interesting to put a thermometer inside, off to the side just to see what the air temperature gets up to. I’ve often been tempted to put a hood scoop on a boat, but of course if it flipped 😬. I have used esc,s with fans on them in my Traxxas Blast and Black Jack 24, it seems to help moving air around to keep temps down but a little on the bulky side for a rc boat. The guys in Thailand running their long tails actually let their boats submerge with all electrical components waterproofed, everything is open to the atmosphere 🤔 I don’t think I could bring myself to trust water proofing to protect my investment.

The thermeter inside the hull is a good idea, I've also thought about installing/modifying an actual air scoop and making like a one-way flap so when the boat flips, the flap closed so water doesn't enter the hull

Run a constant water pump inside the boat as close to the pickup as possible. Should decrease temps by 30%. If dual pumps installed on a dual cooling system, she will be 🥶 RCBB has em.

Looking great! It looks like that big, cupped prop is helping to hold the front down when you give it a smooth rip. Learning something here! I got 14 degrees on my turn fin, but it's not curved on the bottom. You got one of the better, fast V34's out there! Edit: yeah been looking at those messed up pickup points on the Speedmaster rudder for a spell now. About dual porting the rudder, I've been concerned about "short circuiting" the high pressure side through the common ports to the low pressure side, which may be a suction at some points in the rudder travel. Maybe you Guinea pig for us?! 😂

I appreciate it, I was and actually still considering running a straight fin with a lot of angle but the mad lizard swoop seems to be holding tight.

@@IRONCLADRC i got 4, 2s batts across the hull linked in series, 8s total in front of the motor/esc. (Single-motor V34) The batts go out across the sponsons under the deck, they're 90-deg to the motor. That broad distributed weight kept it from cha-cha'ing and allowed the use of the straight fin, which was faster going straight, less drag than my beloved curved fin! I really didn't want to put that fin in the parts box! It looked so good on the boat, but on my hull, the straight fin was definitively better... Your's is ripping, it really looked stable! That rooster off the turn fin was awesome

this is proof i need to get a lower kv motor! my 2200 kv on 6s and even a small 1616 prop its insane. Where you holding wide open on the straights?

  • @IRONCLADRC

Basically, WOT in the straights, I had to ease into full throttle most of the time. Only had one power cut with that 1916 17/45, yeah if your getting power cuts with a 1616 I'd definitely consider going down in kv or get an esc up to the task.
