Good and simple work, thanks for sharing, cheers from Luxembourg 🇱🇺 europe from an old chap 63, turning beginner since 4 months
Nice to see that even the experts can make mistakes and not try to hide them.
Another awesome video. Simple but elegant. I love how you don't edit out any mistakes and you show us beginners how to correct them and save the piece. Thanks Mike!
Once again I ordered from your company after watching one of your videos. You’re good at what you do.
All Craft Supplies videos are well done and very informative
I love turning cherry! 🍒
I need to make a few of these. I haven’t in all the years I have been turning.
impressed by how much fine work you did with a roughing gouge
Very nice video! Instructions are clear and I really appreciate you naming each tool as you use it. Good audio and camera angles too. Thank you!

Thank you very much! 😊 -Mike
Just found my next project! I've been trying to introduce friends to woodturning (after recently starting myself), and this exactly the kind of projects I can show/teach them in about an afternoon (thanks to your help). Thanks!
Nice scrap project !!! Thanks.
I was just looking at options for salt/pepper shakers on your website last night. Looks like I know what I'm doing friday😂
Thanks Mike, I always enjoy your videos. Take care.
AMAZING I can’t wait to give it a go!!!
Great job…Mike is great at making things simple.
Enjoyed this video. Thanks for telling what you're seeing and how you're reacting to it. This does look very doable for a beginner like myself. Thanks again.

I forgot to mention that I use a 35 mm bit to make the counterpart for the rubber plug. It's simple and almost foolproof

Also I change jaws on my chuck and chuck on the i.d. instead of a jab chuck
I guess this is why I don’t throw small pieces away. 😊
I love these! I'm excited to try making these, OR you can send me yours!!!
I always keep small pieces for projects like this.
EasyPeasy!
Great video!!! What brand Forstner bit are you using?

Thank you! Here's a link to the bits I used in the video: www.woodturnerscatalog.com/p/76/5102/turners-select-Forstner-Drill-Bit
I courious about the cleaning aspect. I’m sure it just gets wiped off with a damp rag. My question is the inside cleaning. It’s not sealed in any way. How would you keep moisture from getting into the wood and does it need to be sealed with a food safe material
@CraftSuppliesUSA
10 ай бұрын
The inside almost never needs to be cleaned, but you could seal the inside with a food safe mineral oil before use.
Hi Mike, could I use resin for these? Thank you

Yes, absolutely. A set of resin shakers would be awesome! -Mike

Why not start the holes with a center drill
