Question! What are your plans for heat and air? Also did you just leave the garage door up on the outside?

We have the fans for air, but mainly the house ac covers here. We always keep our door open so we don’t need anything extra. And yes the garage door is on the outside!

How did you remove the garage door parts but keep the garage door in place? Did you need to do anything additional to keep the garage door in place or does it just stay in place even with the rails and chain removed? I'm looking to do exactly this

I really need an answer to that because I’m outside looking at my garage door and I don’t understand how you got it to stay in place after you took all the parts off 😂

@Danny Boy I don’t think you understand the question lol. I’m leaving the garage door, but I can’t leave all the parts on the ceiling, as you saw in the video. You won’t be able to frame the wall with all the rails, chain, and motor on the ceiling. My question is how did she remove that stuff without the garage door falling?

You might want to put up some carbon monoxide detectors or relocate that water heater just to be on the safe side, you said No windows and the gaps that use to be there were probably minimal but all that helps to vent out any gases.

I was thinking about covering up only my 2 car garage door just like u did since we don't use it and just leave the one car garage Working. Iam thinking of adding some sofas and maybe a little bar. Also if I put up wall like that I can use the wall for many things. What do u think?

Amazing transformation! Your dad and husband did a great job! Any concerns about the water heater being in the same room? The gas burners on the heater give toxic fumes when warming up the water. Also in case of gas leak, you have a combustible in your room. You may want to change that out to a tankless electric water heater.

while you were building that wall you should have just gone ahead and put a window/door in for ventilation and escape in case of fire ...get a carbon monoxide and fire alert in there too..better to be safe than sorry

Our back door is right next to our garage/bedroom but I still personally preferred to have a least one window in the room for safety reasons. Just because you never know but it looks so good! Y’all did a great job!

Thank you, but the area we live at we definitely can’t have no window. Plus it will be converted back into a garage. Most likely by next year, and can’t have a window in the garage so people can break in. 😭

So sorry! I got distracted with my kids and forgot to reply back! 😭 but for cooling just the ceiling fans, & for heat nothing cause it’s not cold enough in here to use anything for heat! but we do have a heater just in case. It’s literally at 30 degrees outside and the room isn’t cold at all it’s prefect temperature!
