Turn any Plastic Skeleton into an Aged Prop Quick and Easy. A great Halloween Project.

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

All these amazing props coming from the big box stores these days has us as haunters and builders spoiled! The only problem is the finish on them is always a little less than ideal. Using some woodworkers stain and spray paint you can quickly and easily turn up the realism dial on these props quickly and easily. If you have any questions feel free to ask in the comments!
- Feel free to put a coat of varathane or clear coat spray on this to seal it all!
- There was some distortion in the audio when I was doing the spray paint part, the wind messed with my mic.

Thanks @cindydavis1443 I am sure at this point you have almost watched my whole catalogue of videos and I very much appreciate that! This weathering has actually held up really well as this same spider is currently residing onto of my TV for the halloween season! It was wild, that the saber tooth cat I did with a similar stain, ended up bleaching back to plastic bone colour when I pulled it out of the shed this year and I am still struggling with WHY! Regardless, thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed!

YT algorithm brought me here and much appreciative. Burned through your video category. Keep it up. Very good content and you deserve more views, seriously. Well explained, well shown, and well presented. Can't ask for much more!

It was a Home Depot spider from about 4 years ago, it is Canada so not sure if we got different things than our American counterpart 😀. When I saw it, I had to have it! I totally agree though, I really liked it before, but with the new aging it really makes it 100% better 😀

How do you make "black wash"?

Most washes are made by mixing black acrylic paint with water at a 10-1 ratio. You can make it darker or lighter depending on what you need it for! Thanks for watching 😀

I have aged a few skeletons with different shades of stain but never did the black wash step. Might have to try it with a grey stain and see how it looks.

It is a great extra aging step, like lichen growing on a old bone skull. I have done it with brown and green as well, but not grey! I would love to see the final result if you end up doing it 😀
