I can only recommend conducting interviews and reports with scientists and KZreadrs from Germany on this topic. In this context, it must also be mentioned that the German media, especially the Axel Springer media, contributes massively to the discrimination against Turkish and Muslim minorities.

Had a bad experience recently in the Hospital. We just had our 1st baby and the Turkish-German family members of our room-mate( who was also turkish) was really disrespectful. It came to a point that the father banged the door while my baby was sleeping, because they just wanted to occupy the cabinet that we were using. We occupied the room 1st and moving our belongings would be unecessary because we were leaving the next morning. They would be very noisy though they can see that our baby is still sleeping and that the hospital only allow few visitors especially in the baby areas. As an immigrant my self, i wonder why they would look down on other migrant races especially asians. They would seem to look very entitled on everything. Still we held our composure, though i cried because of my frustration not being able to defend my self and my wife.

Ironically only muslims will be told to integrate the rest of the people are respected for their culture and their faiths! Most people from other countries live here for years but doesn't bother even learning German well enough. Integration is a myth and an excuse in some way. The discriminated and the separation is excisting. If you're Asian, white or non muslim you're fine and if you look arabic or muslimlike, it can be a whole different story. I thought because of globalisation things get better, but the rise of right politics is crazy, but I also think in metropolitan cities, it is in general a bigger acceptance of mutlucultural nations, but sometimes in conversations or certain situations, it can feel like a breaking fassade. This is a huge topic. I think discrimination is a world wide disease. There is no vaccine for that. We have to accept that everyone is different and that it isn't scary. Judging people of who they are from is simply wrong. I wish I've been never born in this fake democracy of society here! Hardworking and honest people shouldn't be labelled and excluded. No one deserves this way of treatment, especially those who make an honest effort and support the economy. Guest workers should be welcomed and respected for what they have done and who they have become not where they are from. Why does that matter at the end? They helped this country to become better with too little recognition!

I think the more generations are born in Germany, the more they will feel accepted. I feel more accepted as a 3rd generation Dutch-Turk than my grandpa did (1st generation Turk in the Netherlands). Many Turks are white themself and people don't really discriminate Turks based on their ethnicity/phenotypes but more so their Islamic identity. Many Turks to a degree don't look that different from Greeks, Portugese, Spanish, Macedonians. Westernized Turks don't even really stick out, its more the Turks in Germany, Netherlands, Belgium who are very islamic, with islamic customs, dress etc.

Heres something you may find interesting. :) The name of my country has nothing to do with the interesting and delicious bird 'turkey'...... .....but the name of the bird does have a connection with the name of my country, let me explain. :) In the past 40 years 37 countries have changed their name. Obviously one can not change the name of an apple or an orange etc in other languages, but country names are like peoples' individual names, so if you're named John we don't call you Karen. :) Name of my country has always been Türkiye, it's been known as such since around the 1200's. The name it self has a suffix, '-iye', that is Turk-iye, where the -iye suffix means 'land of/belonging to', just like the Latin suffix of '-ia', which exists in such country names like Austr-ia, Austral-ia, Indones-ia etc. Basically, the use of '-iye/-ia' is the same as the the use of '-land' suffix in country names like Ire(Eire)-land, Po(le)-land, Eng(Anglo)-land and so on and so on. Many would remember the country Czechoslovak-ia which changed it's name to Czech Republic and a few years ago changed that to Czechia (that is Czech-ia). The Latin suffix -ia probably originates from Turkish -iye as Turkish been over 10,000 years is much older than Latin which is around 1300 years old. Spelled in different languages in different ways to phonetically resemble (to sound like) 'Türkiye' we got various spellings like; Turq-uía (in Spanish), Turch-ia (in Italian), Turq-uie (in French) Turk-ei (in German) Turk-ey (in English) Mind you this was way before the animal we currently know as turkey was found by the europeans when they explored the north americas. The bird was first sent to europe from north americas in the year 1519, so up until that point there was no bird named turkey.... ...they came across the bird and thought it was a specie of the fowl/chicken they had been buying from the country of Turkiye at the time, so they named the bird 'Turkey Fowl' to define 'Turkish Chicken'... ....just like how a dog breed is known as German Shepherd (because it's from Germany), American Bulldog, British Terrier, Greek Harehound etc etc. In time you don't get to call the harehound simply as Greek or you don't call the terrier Britirsh, or shepherd as simply German, but in time the Turkish Fowl started to be called just 'Turkey' and later 'turkey', and this went on for hundreds of years. Now in modern times, this caused confusion, especially when we have people across the world unable to point to their own country on an atlas. Basically we didn't change the name of our country, we changed the mistake made in the English language. : ) So, there's some tid bit information for you to have a great day, if you read upto this point you have a great night too, ohh just have a wonderfull life. : ) Best wishes. ;)

If you don't live as an expat, you will never understand the expat experience living in a foreign country and from your comments I highly doubt you ever lived abroad. What do you mean to have Saudi Arabia habits and way of life? I lived in Arabic countries for over 11 years and they had a more civilized way of life compared to Germany. I also lived 43 years in total in the US, China, India, Russia, Austria, Germany, Belgium, Cyprus, Greece just a few to mention (so basically in America, Europe, Far East and Middle East). The most intolerant towards foreigners were the Western countries because they have always had a bias towards Islam. I agree with you about those who don't work and only create problems but this is not something exclusive about the Turks, you also have extremist German groups that create way more problems than the immigrants. You just don't want to accept that reality. If you spare some time and go and visit and interact with the Turks in some of the areas where they are populated, once you get to know them, you will realize they are not bad people as you try to portray them in your mind. They are also just trying get by in life same like you. Them having their own culture and religion does not necessarily mean they are a threat to you in any way. Not every person has to be EXACTLY like you as if coming out of a printing machine. If you are close minded towards other cultures, you will always feel issues with other nationalities and religions.

If you do not want to be discriminated, learn the language, accept their culture, stop expecting things to change, you have to change and assimilate. As someone from Central Asia, I learnt the language in a year! If someone wasn't nice, I tried to speak to them in their language. It is their ancestor's land, you have to be able to understand where this attitudes are coming from. There are so many refugees these days, everyone would feel insecure and threatened.

Unlike immigrants from other European countries, Turks and other Muslims refuse to integrate. Instead, they live in their parallel societies and consume their Turkish media. Many people don't notice much about Germany, even though they live in the country. Their education is also lower, as many do not even finish school, and crime in and through their parallel society is very high. It is the same in the Netherlands, Austria, Denmark and Sweden. So it's up to them and not the countries they moved to. By the way, there were also Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Greek and South Korean guest workers. But they returned to their countries after their two-year contracts expired. Only the Turks refused. They should have been sent back more forcefully back then, because they are the only ones causing problems.
